Archisorcerus reached out to me re this post. I have a segment on Chuck Simons' show on Progrock.com that includes music of this sort, and have been around the industry for many years. My show, and most of the hosts that I know across the various stations need to work with material that can be purchased, rather than just streamed, however.
This music definitely would have appeal with progressive audiences, especially those who like what we call "prog-adjacent," material. You definitely should have a Bandcamp presence when you complete your other songs, as you'd mentioned.
As far as touring, the US is formidable for many reasons, esp now, after Covid. It's terribly expensive to tour here, especially with the cost of visas, etc, and not many venues, even on the East Coast. Not saying it can't be done, but you just don't seem to have enough in place yet to consider it. The European scene is much more open and doable, several festivals have picked back up again and I certainly could see a young presence doing those, once there is traction from interest via radio play. On the music itself, obviously you are all talented and capable musicians and again, the music would certainly appeal to many in the small world of "prog-adjacent," music fans. Keep us posted as you release new material. |

Thank you so much for your interest, comments and advices. It is so much valuable for us to hear opinions of people in this industry. We are located in a 3rd class country (Turkey) where even living as a human is very hard for most of us. Making music or even listening to music is a kind of luxury here.It is even impossible to find audience, a place for a concert or a radio to play our songs for this band Our style, our genre is impossible in our country. Any kind of opportunity, support to make our music be heard by Europe or America audience is very important for us more than you can imagine. Thank you so much once more, Regards. I hope you weren't too close to the epicenter of the recent earthquakes. One of the stations I am on a lot has a huge prog fan from Turkey, she is also a doctor. We were so happy to hear that she was all right. Although I don't play music that isn't yet available for purchase, there are some hosts who do, such as Rivertree above, so my comment was not to discourage you from reaching out whatsoever. Do not let go of your dream of playing your music, follow your heart regarding what and how you play and stay true to your musical selves. Again, I hope to hear as you continue along releasing the new songs as they are finished and will be very interested in final product, as I like what I've heard so far.

By the way, the songs that Siyah Siyah released so far are "rewritings". The one here is a classic one. Don't get upset that you don't understand the lyrics, as it is kinda in old Turkish; I don't get about half of it as a Turk either.
 I wanna thank Nickie (Snicolette) for her awesome help and kindness. I was expecting a PM from her; but not only did she do that with a more detailed message, but also posted its crucial parts here. I'm really grateful to her.

Good to know that these are reworkings of traditional songs, I feel as though it gives great honour to the songs that are brough to new audiences this way. That is seet of you, Ozgur. Just some stuff I've learned the hard way over the last couple of years, and happy to "pay it forward," as I got so much help when I started out on this path.
