from the WWW.genesis news :
"In a recent interview with Fair Fax City Music, Nick Davis has revealed that a Genesis at the BBC-boxset will be released in the forthcoming weeks. According to Nick, it will also feature the Lyceum (1980) show (which sounds really good, he says) and it will be a 5CD-set. There will also be a Vinyl set. No further news about this is available at this point as Genesis haven't made an official announcement yet." |

I don’t expect any surprises from this box. BBC recordings are already available on the previous box and on the unofficial'Transmission impossible' compilation.
I must admit I wish I was wrong As for 'The Lyceum' , its availability has never been a problem and is not comparable to what unreleased tracks from their early career would bring to old fans of which I am. |

CD 1 is similar to a CD I have called Genesis - The Lost Radio Recordings. This contains the Nightride and Sounds of the Seventies tracks but not the Peel ones.

I note it includes the encore of The Knife at the Lyceum. That's not always available on other versions (bootlegs) of the show. All in all it's just to expensive and I can easily do without the last 2 CD's which mainly cover the mid 80's and early 90's shows. I wonder if it will be made available for streaming??!

Live stuff is out there but what really interests me is the stuff that did not make it on to their first few albums but that was already covered off by the Archives 67-75 collection - mainly on Disc 4 (of Archives). The new CD1 seems not to contain anything beyond that. One archive already exhausted.
Henry Cow's label sells individual CDs from their Redux box-set, I wonder if the same will be applied here?

There is nothing on this set from the 70's that i dont have multiple times from multiple sources. The Lyceum gig is a good snaphot of its time but thats all and the rest doesn't interest me. Once the 'Genesis plays Jackson' tapes were (finally) released (and sounded much better than expected, sound restoration wise) everything of any real interest to me was already out there and i'm very happy to have it that way.
Will TB suddenly produce some decent recordings of, say, early Italian shows or more very early UK material? I very much doubt it but who knows.. we live in hope.
