This is one of the most decisive and hard questions in movie history, can one actualy chose one over the other, as they work so well togeyher. But who is the most interesting least anoying to have as a companion.

The Scarecrow was simple minded, but totally loyal and caring to Dorothy.

Any self-respecting geek will tell you the Tinman rocks the house--- he's steampunk, he's heavy metal, he's sci-fi .

The scarecrow perhaps (Hay, man, how's it goin?), but I haven't watched the film since I was about five, I think, but I have seen bits and pieces since and still seem to remember the film really well.

I have a healthy nerdy affection for this film, it scared me as a child, it is full of imagery and is also took me along time to do my second rewatch, 29 years, and it takes a longer tile for Dorothy to get taken by the tornado thanI remember.

It now servs both as a film that me as a fan of fantasy based movies will get atracted to and also has an academic level of interest.

Also yes Toto is a good call, i had a cairn terrier, and I get nostalgic for different reasons for watching the dog in the film, as i see my dog also

Actually it was very popular when it first came out. There was a lot of buzz around the first film made in technicolor and many people wanted to see the much ballyhooed scene where Dorothy lands in Oz and everything is in color.
My mom's family was poor, but they scraped together enough money to see the film that came out with much hype attached to it.
