I know that I'm getting old because I never knew about this forum before today.  I first became a "prog" fan back when I was stationed at MacDill AFB, a looong time ago, when I first began listening to The Wave 102.5 out of Sarasota, FLA.  Add that to my attendance of my first JLP concert in '85 and I was hooked.

Anyway, I've been a prog fan for donkey's years and I'm looking forward to reading what the other prog fans on the "PAF" have to say about this wonderful genre of the great pop music era!

Prog On!
CM

Hi there, Welcome!

I got into prog around 1990..

Yes, invaluable resource and special place.

Like your nick; with much my favorite JLP album.. saw them in the 'Atlantic Years' Tour in Santiago in 2011; with Jamie Glaser, Rayford Griffin (Shocked) & Co.

Hi MM ~

We also saw JLP & Co. on The Atlantic Years Tour -- but this one was in 2018 -- at The Cabot in Beverly, MA.

They had Rayford Griffin's drum kit turned up too high on the sound board, but Jamie and JLP were smokin,' regardless.  I've since exchanged a couple of emails with Jamie G.  He seems to be a super nice fella. Big smile

Take good care of yourself down there,
CM

Yeah..

Griffin sounded LOUD here back then too..  though I liked it; was very impressed at how hard he punched the damn thing! I was diagonal at the drum set side from above.. in a small, intimate theater.

I was also impressed with Glaser; didn't know him.. I play guitar myself; loved his red guitar and his 70's style.. it really was a gift seeing them..

It seems Ponty likes Chile; he's been here a bunch of times, even for an annual Jazz festival there used to be; and I think I read he wanted to make some musical project involving the desert.

Well thanks; relatively calm down here for the time being.. you know, entering Autumn.

Thank you, my prog friend...As I mentioned, I caught the progressive bug while wearing a uniform for ol' Uncle Ronnie.  102.5 "The Wave" was one of the most "progressive" [pun intended] FM radio stations I ever enjoyed listening to.

Take good care of yourself,

Not only did we exchange a couple of emails, but he is the only well known musician that I've ever met who will actually come out and greet the folks standing in line to get in to see him play with JLP.

I really hope that you get to see him again down there. Big smile
