Hi,
I didn't see when this would be out and all that info. RS covered half my page by wanting my money ... gosh how I hate RS.

The title of the doc is In The Court of the Crimson King and the official trailer is out, on YouTube...maybe someone can provide a link? I tried, unsuccessfully...
The world premiere is March 2022, at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas.

Hi,
I don't think the film will say much about Bill Bruford, but I felt that in his bio he was just being nice and quiet about it all ... rather than say something that would not seem right. In the end, the albums Bill was in are well remembered and the material is STILL played, and I think that says something about Bill's contribution. It should be an interesting film, however, I'm not sure it will be that great, and probably be very sad considering how many folks were "there" and are not valued for their contribution. As far as having the "freedom to do anything you wanted" ... I rather doubt it, unless RF had open rehearsals where they could just go nuts at least once, just for fun, and to get the cobwebs and funny ideas out of the system, which is a really good exercise in theater for at least one rehearsal, and helps the concentration and dedication to the whole theme and flow of the piece at the moment. RF, is not exactly a person that did not do a lot of studying in his time, and his having been a part, and slightly involved in a couple of interesting things, would suggest that there were bits and pieces in it that he could use in the music or in rehearsal, or in the preparation of the music. Some musicians, don't like that and can not do this, since their ALL attention is on counting and the next chord ... but for folks like Robert he can go do the next chord, slightly different and no one will notice or give a damn ... because he does not lose his concentration or his step in the music itself. If anything, I expect the film to make it clear whose vision it all is ... and the folks that helped put it together!

Maybe this should have been titled "King Crimson: Behind The Music.". Regardless, it's a must see.

Hi, hahahahahaha ... love it ... that was one of the shows I used to watch because it had some interesting things. There were some great shows ... Heart, Police, Metallica, U2, that I can rename right off the bat, because they had moments that were really special. The two most important ones for me, were in U2 and the Police, when both Andy and Edge showed how something could sound without the amplification, and even Andy admitted that ... it wasn't useable ... but with the amplification and modifications on it, it was a hit! Edge showed something similar, about the sound itself. The Metallica one is the sad one for me, when one of the interviewers told the guy that they had sold out, in regards to the quality of the music and just repeating what they were doing, and the response? ... Yep we sell out every night! ... meaning they didn't give a damn about what anyone said. And they were, by that time, all about the big money! And they knew it! Heart's was interesting and it focused on the sisters more than anything else, and specially on one of them being over weight which was a huge problem for the record company at the start, and even a couple of TV shows had the camera not show the whole group and her only from the neck up. It was gross and pathetic. In the end, they both could finger the record company, because they were able to put it all together and make them squirm ... with the massive sales, and the great voice at the front. But it is sad, that someone would do, or say something like that to a singer that good (in the first place!) and then try to slink down the band, probably to steal some more of its money! KC's thing, believe or not, is a sidebar interest for me, but the whole myth about anger and this and that ... I don't think that many of those folks care that much really, since they are still getting a wee bit of royalties from it, is my guess ... but some folks might have been disappointed they didn't get a chance to stay longer or do more, or perhaps that their contribution was kinda taken away and diminished ... which would be very scary! Mel Collins was there very early ... so he should be interesting all of his words. And he has a massive listing of credits, not only KC ... but I think that he values KC a lot more.
