One for the Brits (mostly).

Boris Johnson seems to be losing support, even within his own party, with the Christmas party scandal really leaving people fuming.  Is he on his way out?  I DO hope so.

We're a laughing stock and he is a buffoon, who seems to somehow get through every crisis by waffling incoherently and just blustering.

But who would want to take his place?......

Let's hope so, the guy is an idiot.

As to who would replace him, to be really honest nobody in the Tories springs to mind.

Just 10 years ago, if you'd said to most conservatives that Johnson would be PM one day, they would have laughed at you. Historically he is something of a joke in his own party, which is saying something considering the party is pebble dashed with dodgy characters.

I think his days are numbered, although as you say there's not much else to choose from in that party and the opposition is as much use as a marzipan d!ldo.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

Boris Johnson is the British equivalent to Donald Trump (a less extreme version though). 'nuff said

Johnson is a narcissist; he doesn't really care about anything or anyone other than himself.  There are no ethics or principles where he's concerned, just an unappeasable ego with a raging void at the centre of it.

^ Hmm. But he would still desire a country to be taken advantage of. Our Erdoğan is no better in this regard.

I'm an anarchist, BTW. If a person complains about our current government, Erdoğan supporters accuse him/her of being a thankless wretch. Why should I be thankful for the people/politicians who think that they are "special", "superior" etc.? Politics is like a cancer in the world. Even if you "heal", there's no guarantee that it won't catch you again.  Clown

I find it rather tragic that the British public's anger has been aroused over the probability of an Xmas party having taken place inside Downing St last year, when the cabinet's own personal decisions have been fraught with inconsistencies over COVID (Cummings going, Hancock snogging...) yet have been generally resigned to the Cash for Questions/ Second Home Allowances/ Second Jobs/ Using Offices for their private work and so on. Anyone who believed they would level up the country after breaking down the so call red wall were rather naive, owing to their acute lack of empathy for a Care Worker trying to feed their family on £9 an hour...

I was also going to make a sex joke.

As for the topic at hand, we can only hope.

I also avoided the joke.
What does that say about us I wonder.
That we're shy about making sexualized humour as a result of the whole woke effect, or that we're just avoiding an obvious target?

Oh I didn't make the joke because Scott alluded to it before I could. At that point it was old news and would have diminished the play on words.

I'm never shy about sexual humor.

I find the British system kinda fascinating... of course all I know about it is what I see on The Crown but that'll have to do for now.   I will say as an American, English government seems enviable, and that a Christmas party is causing such controversy is adorable (in a good way).   Compared to the average Republican US rep, Johnson looks like Mr. Rogers.

If you went back in time to when he used to appear on Have I Got News For You and said that this man will be our PM one day, I for one would just laugh. Or cry.

Former Speaker of the House John Bercow BLASTS Boris Johnson for being "the worst prime minister he's ever known by a country mile!" Thumbs Down

As a human, he's a disappointment. However, Boris throws fantastic Christmas wine and cheese parties!

wouldn't Bercow be a good successor to BoJo the Clown? Clown

Hi,

That one is easy ... Prince Charles, of course, who is probably even emptier! ... ohhh skip that ... he's in line for a few weeks somewhere else before he too leaves us!

Too bad he lost his taste for comedy and The Goons (he was a frequent visitor to the recordings). It would have made him a better statement with Spike Milligan's famous line ... I RESIGN! ... when asked about the cleaners at the #10!
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!
