Hey everyone!
I've been using Prog Archives to study music for over 10 years and have found so much great stuff here. I think I've posted in the forums before at least at one point when someone mentioned my band, Fasba Fpel and wondered about making us officially on the site. But my band is nuts, so I understand no one wanting to do that kind of work. Haha. Anyway, for the last couple of months I've been producing mini-docs on prog or prog related bands, for the most part. At first I was scared of going too prog on my new channel, but it's who I am and what I know so it's definitely where I lean. My videos get right to the point with telling the history of an obscure band, I discuss the content of their discography and where someone might want to start listening amongst other things like why the band is legendary. I'd really appreciate it if anyone here is interested in watching my videos, recently I've discussed Aphrodite's Child, the 3 albums by Comus (Did you know they have 3?!?!) and have started a series on Argentine prog. It'd be great if I could be directed to where these videos might be best received, though I also think they could be in general discussions when paired with genuine conversation about people's favorite moments by the bands, etc. This week's video is on prog pop/art rock geniuses, 10cc. If you don't know their story or why they're interesting, please check out the video and let me know what you think. Thank you guys so much! Hoping to make some friends here over the years, I've always had tons of respect for this website! (Other than that Artaud by Pescado Rabioso isn't on the site)

Music is my gospel and I preach with my picking hand. -Harry Chapin. Not prog but still cool. Haha

Very cool, I like the idea of simply discussing a significant art band. Well done.

Thank you! Most of it will be someone prog related if not prog. Have you listened to Argentine prog rock? I'm working on a series about it and so far have one video on Sui Generis, as a bit of an intro. Really interesting stuff.

I love the Argentines, such a precise ear for music ~ and of course one of the great classics -- Good choice for a series, I would watch. |

Hi Sean!
Glad that you've joined the site and made this post. I checked out the 10cc and P.F.M. videos and found them agreeable enough to subscribe! However (Insert hyper-dramatic, descending, overwrought orchestral bit here)... You have to start using your fourth finger on your left hand while playing bass, or I'll sick Charles Berthoud and Davie504 on you!!! J/K Welcome aboard, looking forward to your continued video explorations! All the best to you, Cylli (Jim) |
