Jean and I just discovered these shoes:

They must be absolute hell to walk in, but we would really like to have them to wear them just once for some special event. It would be an extreme torture for our feet, but the look on the faces of everyone seeing us walk in them would be worth it.

Ouch! I just recovered from plantar fasciitis about a year ago, so I won't be doing anything like that.

It's rather a good thing that those shoes aren't popular in certain Arab/ middle-eastern world cultures. Though the true stiletto heels would be more dangerous to throw at some one.

That said, I wouldn't expect such fashionable shoes to be thrown.

Or maybe Tim Burton.

Some people might walk in those shoes - for three or four minutes - and take some more time to recover. These may be designed either as a joke or a dadaist artistic expression.

These shoes were actually designed for a performance by Mirjam Soegner, an Austrian choreographer and performer, at Fetishism in Fashion, the fifth edition of the M°BA 13 (Fashion Biënnale Arnhem). The shoes were made by René van den Berg. These shoes were part of the shoe exhibition ‘Elevation’ from June 9 till July 21, 2013.

Here a photo of Mirjam performing in them:

Hi,

You might look up the special on Dame Margo Fonteyn.
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Looks like it would have been an interesting performance. I wonder how long it was and how often she bared her full weight on those toes. In the given pose there is certainly little stress on the body/legs/feet. I can imagine the performance consisting of movements and poses that highlight the 'props' without causing damage to the performer.
