Two bizzare yet entertaining, top of the mop action movie series. With insane preformances. The lethal duo of Mel Gibson and Danny Glover, with some smart comedy thrown in but a film that are whatever you will like to say, are unique. Bruce Willies is spessial in all he does, he got a spessial carisma and noone is bettee at action thrn Bruce, hes the king of action movies. Also have humor in parts, not as clever as Lethal Weapon but got funny and hillarious moments.
Im watching Lethal Weapon on TV now and that is givven my full attention. |

I never really got Leathal Weapon, seems more of a satire than anything. But Die Hard was an excellent '80s actioner. |

^ I find it cool that the film is made by Richard Donner, the director who also made Reeves Superman movies. The campyness are in both.

I remember watching and enjoying the Lethal Weapon film series, but I recall that I enjoyed the Die Hard movie series more.

As an overall franchise I'd have to pick the Die Hard series, but if we were just talking about the first movie of each franchise Lethal Weapon wipes the floor with Die Hard.
JD Trivia #17 If you pause the scene where the girl falls onto the car just before she hits, then step it forward frame by frame, the last frame before the edit you can see the wrinkles begin to appear on the air mattress she's landing on. They painted the car on it. Yes, this is the obsession of watching movies that I have. I'll watch movies sometimes dozens of times, each time focusing on different aspect of it. I'm also a complete continuity nerd. It drives Mrs. JD nuts sometimes.

A tie I guess.
I remember loving both of these series back when I was a teenager. |

^ Me too. Although I also like the first Lethal Weapon film, the humour in it is a bit more stereotyped, imo. And Bruce Willis is even good in bad films (anyone remember Hudson Hawk?) and he was already hilarious in the Moonlighting TV-series...

Lethal Weapon by a fair amount (at least LW1).
I find 'sgt. Riggs' a more charismatic character, with all his madness and demons; living in his trailer with his dog at the beach. By the way, lovely romance story in LW2 with that stunning Dutch girl!. He has a cool, more 80's look, too. If you add up Danny Glover, they make for a funny and epic duo indeed. Lethal Weapon is from 1987 whereas Die Hard from 1988, another point in my books. At this moment I'm watching Die Hard 2 that they aired coincidentally (though last time I caught it was not so long ago). Die Hard 3, I recall, is the one I like most, in terms of plot, music, action and all.. with the addition of Samuel L. Jackson (and Jeremy Irons) that adds a lot of fun to it. About Bruce Willis, without a doubt the one I like most is his acting on Pulp Fiction. Epic. Edited by Machinemessiah - April 18 2021 at 18:47 |

Bruce Willis has a bit of a reputation as a tough guy in interviews too.
