With travel restrictions in place due to COVID, this poll takes you on a tour of the United States of America.  I have chosen 24 songs with state names in the title and added a bonus at the end that every one knows and many will vote for.  A handful of the songs will be well known, but many will likely be unfamiliar, and hopefully that is where you will find the gold.  Anyhow, I hope that you enjoy your trip.  The poll is open for multiple votes, so vote for your three favorites and let us know what they are!!!

For those who like YouTube playlists, here is a link.  25 States of America - YouTube  The Sanguine Hum song does not appear to be on YouTube, so I added a Bandcamp link below.

Otherwise, following are 24 videos and one Bandcamp link.

On Bandcamp, since I couldn't find a YouTube video:

Another great poll. Let's keep it all American. Echolyn gets my vote. Great weed reference. Sanguine Hum choice 2 and 3. They need it.

Yes.  I know.  But I avoided it because it was a well known song.  I decided to go with the lesser known song.  I was going to use The Montana Realty Company from McGill Manring Stevens but I didn't find an on-line streaming version of it.

I thought this was going to be a list of red States. How silly of me.

It's very close between Happy the Man and Frank Zappa. I voted for Happy the Man.

Okay so I just spent quite a long time listening to all of these, and there are some amazing songs in this list.
But that 'Kentucky Meat Shower' song is fire, so I chose it.

^ Agree with you on that one there! Great track and great playing. Together with Les Claypool's impressive playing on Iowan Gal and the all-time neo-prog classic Alaska by Pendragon. The playlist kicks off greatly with Marbin, but these three are my stand-out tracks.

UK's Alaska was under consdideration for this poll, but I decided to go with the Pendragon song.  If I do a second states poll the UK song will likely be on that one.  Thumbs Up

How could you leave out Pennsylvania? I mean, there is Fat Larry's Band and many other great bands.

I only have 3 songs in my collection with Pennsylvania in their name, and none of them were prog.  That being said, if I do a second state poll, I might include one of those songs.  I am not familiar with Fat Larry's Band.  Not sure if you are serious or messing with me.  Smile

It looks as though Fat Larry's Band were from Pennsylvania, but they didn't have a song with Pennsylvania in the name.  At least not that I found.
