Board Games That Are As Solid As Armour

The Settlers of Catan is the first one that comes to my mind.

I play chess and viking chess (Hnefatafl) and tafl games, and would like to play Go. There are a lot of games similar to chess that I would play. I actually have been looking into getting some other kinds of board games, mostly for my son but he doesn't like luck based, random games. I just wanted to get him another something for the Switch, but he prefers board games to video games (although he likes Baba is You and does play Zelda games).

I was thinking about getting Terra Mystica, but it's expensive and I don't know if we would like it. I have the game Hive somewhere in storage after our last move. A lot of those Euro board games look interesting. Diplomacy I have played and is very good, and would like to purchase (I prefer it to a game like Risk although I used to play a lot of Risk with friends).

One I want to get is Dungeon Twister (was into D&D when young) and this is a strategy board and card game.

Imperial is another I would like to consider getting, which is a strategy game. And Pandemic is one I plan to get.

I definitely play Backgammon, though I prefer the variation Acey Deucey.

I love chess - the best board game that's ever been invented - but there's another popular board game I like to play, which I can't mention without straying into politics.

I could not have expected it, but I would have loved a The White House Apprentice edition. I guess in that case it could be that the one to make it to the end would be the next POTUS.. The hopeful US President contestants would face a series of challenges to prepare them for the job, including raising campaign money (both in looking for donations and doing things like running ice cream stands for money which could be used towards paid advertising), running a successful campaign, organising rallies, and getting enough electoral college votes to be elected. I think Biden's board game might be called The Game of I May Seem Sleepy But I'm Woke. Just a bad joke.
