Hi! I just discovered this forum today! Name is Rick :-) Big prog and grunge enthusiast from Seattle. I stumbled across this album Tempered on YouTube: https://youtu.be/2ECfeaN-L5U The band Photonak (not sure how you pronounce that?) is from Alaska. I was really blown away. I feel like I just discovered the ultimate treasure for super new prog music and artists. Looks like they released this in December 2020. I saw Photonak also has their own artist YouTube channel. Not a lot of subscribers, they seem pretty new. But given the quality of the music, I imagine that's going to change very soon. Or maybe not, prog is a dying genre in this day an age. But I'm really gunning for these guys. It'd be a shame if their music doesn't take off. Curious if you guys will be as impressed as I am, though! I highly recommend this record to anyone!

Not on PA that I see, but this record is their debut and has only been out for a month. I imagine PA will pick this one up eventually. I do see that they are listed on Discogs and MusicBrainz. As far as genre, their first track Fight For Me comes off more mainstream metal/grunge, but they definitely enter symphonic prog territory with their 7th and 10th tracks Crawl and On My Own. Crawl is especially my favorite (track 7). It swaps between 7/4 and 3/4 timing and sort of has a Tool feel to it in an arrangement sense. The instrumentals and progressive build up are astounding.
