Is anyone familiar with this CD: https://www.discogs.com/Camel-Kosei-Nenkin-Hall-Tokyo-January-27-1980/release/14675821 ? It is some kind of bootleg released last year on a label called Floating World. The CD features six tracks, including Nobody Knows, a track that I was not familiar with before. It is a cover of "Jungle Fever" by Neil Larsen. I found it on YouTube: But this clip was uploaded in 2011 whilst the above CD was only released in 2019. Anyone knows if it is from the same show? Is the sound quality of the CD any good? Worth having for a big fan of the band? |

Yes, but I wonder if that is not a mistake. I think in 1980 it was the line-up that did I Can See Your House From Here: Andrew Latimer – guitar, flute, keyboards, vocals Colin Bass – bass, vocals Jan Schelhaas – keyboards, synthesisers Kit Watkins – keyboards, flute, clarinet Andy Ward – drums, percussion Please correct me if I'm wrong. |

According to Pete Frame's excellent Rock Family Trees. the most 'Caramel' version of Camel was from July '78 to March '79
Ward Latimer Collins Schelhaas Sinclair Sinclair And I think that's the band on the recording (with a typo for Richard Sinclair). They toured Japan, so the concert date may be wrong.

Ah, interesting! That could of course be the case. But the I Can See Your House From Here album wasn't released until October 1979. It is frustrating with bootlegs, they often have inaccurate information. I wonder if the full show was recorded and is waiting in the archives somewhere? |

There's also a bootleg from another show in Tokyo from September 8, 2000.

On second thought, I think the date is correct because the set list at setlist.fm seems to fit very well with the track list of that CD. |
