I have been listening to prog for for 45 years and still believe 2019 was progs best year ever. This thread is for albums released in 2019 that fell through the cracks and were largely unnoticed. They need to be heard. Please add some to the list.

Marco Minnemann - My Sister
Richard Henshall - The Cocoon
Antoine Fafard - Borromean Odyssey
The Claypool Lennon Delirium - South of Reality
Body Hound - No Moon
Dewa Budjana - Mahandini
The Aristocrats - You Know What?
Virgil Donati - Ruination
Lonely Robot - Under Stars
The Psychedelic Ensemble - Mother's Rhymes

Well considering everything I listen to is broadly unnoticed, none of these made the top 100 for '19 and have minimal ratings.

Ikarus - Mosaicmic
Panzerpappa - Summarisk Suite
Emme Phyzema - s/t
Elephant9 - Psychedelic Backfire II
Led Bib - It's Morning
Jack O The Clock - Witness
Plastic Dogs - Growl
October Equus - Presagio

...

Hi,

Unheard? By whom?

Guy Guden in his incredible show has played several of these and he is probably too far apart from the "regular" progressive folks, because he plays so much material as to prevent you from using the word "progressive", but the choices are always amazing, even if they go back to the 50's and 60's only to find some similarities with a lot of the music of today!

The big issue with "not being heard" is that some folks, even here, do not listen to music ... they ... usually ... only check out the stuff that everyone posts here as a sort of top five or top ten ... and some folks will even state that some stuff doesn't belong ... which after a while, you know why some of the stuff you mentioned was not "heard" at all ... !!!

The music is ALWAYS THERE and has been since the very first day! The issue was ... we stop listening! So, if you want to listen to Dewa ... finding out about it, is not on PA ... it's somewhere else!

I even remember when Marcus Reuter had something new with the TD guy ... and who played the whole piece in its complete 40 minutes ... you don't even get to guess if you didn't read! Same week as it came out, just about, and likely sent from Marcus directly to Guy, because he knows that his music gets played and then some!

PA is not the best site for all music ... honestly there isn't one ... since all of the sites are so damn click'ish as to get incredibly boring and a high percentage of threads on Genesis and Yes ... and the rest almost ignored ... because it (supposedly) does not sell ... !!!!

You decide, when you want to hear something ... but the number of artists thanking Mr. Guden for his work, is more and more impressive each and every day ... go listen to where the music IS ... not where the music IS NOT!
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Hard to say some of those dropped through the cracks, Tool, IQ, Flower Kings & BBT get talked to death here.

Cristi, nice list, we have some in common. I'll check out your recommendations. But, IQ or TYS unnoticed??

Ian, I know you prefer avant. I like some of it as long as it doesn't go to the deep end. Thanks for your current and past suggestions.
