I am proud to be from the same city with one of the greatest professional choirs in the world - Oreya (accent falls on E - orEya).

The North-Ukrainian city of Zhytomyr (aka Zhitomir - SmileRyemonde, Breadmond, Breadpeace or Ryerest, if you likeSmile) is well-known to the former Soviet citizens as the birthplace of Sergey Korolev, the man behind the construction of Gagarin's rocket. To the audience of Prog Archives, Zhytomyr may be represented as the birthplace of Sviatoslav Richter and the city that, along with Moscow, has its own Museum Of Cosmonautics.

Here is Zhytomyr below:

Here is my city of the 1950s when Sviatoslav Richter himself visited it...

Oreya wins practically everything it touches to. The world class King Midas in the world of choirs, no other description left to say. Apart from that, a good part of them sing at the local Orthodox Christian church, one man occasionally plays the organ at the local Roman Catholic church, several members of Oreya are performing in the staff of Zhytomyr Philharmonic Theatre.

So, why are they prog-related?..

Speaking of progressiveness...

Oreya has performed the truly Zeuhl/RIO'ish in spirit choral piece called “Quixx” by the modern German avant-garde composer Hans Joachim Hespos:
