I love Boston Legal.

I watch all the series every year.

Its hard to watch James Spader. As he gets older it seems he is frequently holding his mouth open in such a way that he is trying to smell his own breath.

Actually, if you watch James Spader acting before and then acting after he had this stint with William Shatner, you will notice he had picked this habit up from William Shatner, also some of Bills pauses and facial expressions, he must have been in awe of him.
I'm sorry, if you were right, I'd agree with you. Robin Williams.

Yes, used to watch it and loved it.  Preferred its ironic tone and the comic play off between Denny Crane and Alan Shore, to the utter seriousness of The Practice.

I watched it when it first aired in the US.....loved the witty dialogue and humor.
I might just revisit it if it's on Netflix.
I 'm a big fan of The Blacklist...Spader's current tv series.

As having english as my second language, when i started watching Boston Leagual, it was my first forray into very wordy and sophisticated english, for my self education. In how to orally construct complex spoken sentences. Often the defendence speach and James Spaders elequant way of delivering monologues. Boston Legual felt to me almost Shakspearian in its use or dialogue and delivering lines. A very intelegent show. Don't watch it much bow but if its on i usually finnishes it.

I think Spader has developed nicely as an older actor, you have to embrace your eccentricities as you age and he does.   I think my favorite performance from him in the last few years was as Ultron.

I'd like to see a sort of Law and Order "corrections" show about a lawyer and a cop partially based on Ivan's finicky brand of webforum [in]justice called The Thin Blue Line and the Big Blue Font.

"In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: the police, who investigate crime; and the district attorneys, who will tediously argue over every little detail. These are their stories."

I haven't seen much Boston Legal. Sometimes I listen to real confessions and real courtroom trials. One important thing to consider is: don't be reluctant to ask for that lawyer even if you are innocent when the police take you in for questioning. Both the innocent and the guilty can incriminate themselves all to easily.

My favourite crime drama show may have been Cracker.

Hi,

I enjoyed this show, despite it getting a bit boring now and then, by repeating things, but in the end, it was always satisfying, and you and I can relate to the two guys sitting on the top of the building having a drink ... it's just a precious moment ... all the time, any time!

James Spader was fine. The only sad thing is that it looked like in shows after this one, people wanted him to do the same things, and it just did not work for me ... and I lost track after that. But I think he had one thing in BL that helped ... hmmm ... let's think about this some more ... and it added to his character, and gave it a what's next feeling ... whereas a lot of the stuff after it was not well written, and I think that it hurt his characterizations ... specially when the writers could not see it ... however, knowing that their show might not survive after tomorrow, usually kills story lines and makes it harder to look at "tomorrow" for a character, and for what James Spader had done, before, it just didn't click.

That's the one. It is a cracking great show. I also watched a lot of Prime Suspect (first season/series was great) and Inspector Morse back in the day. For a more modern crime drama, I loved The Bridge (a Swedish/Danish show for those that don't know it) and enjoyed Broadchurch. For a classic US crime drama, will say I did enjoy Columbo.
