The ONE actor late James Lipton (March 2. 2020)even if so sought after never managed to interview during Inside the Actor Studio, he was nr 1. on the actors to guest the show.

Hi, I can not say for sure, but I always thought that Marlon Brando said what he had to say through his lines in both theater (early days) and film ... and speaking about his acting and fame, might have not been something that appealed to him. But as far as one of the stars and "history" of the Acting Studio, I think that Marlon Brando was one of the first ones along with many others ... and he was Elia Kazan's choice to do Stanley Kowalsky (a choice that made Stanley younger than the play defined) in Tennessee Williams play, which got him massive attention in NY ... but by that time he was already not happy with the press because many times before he had been ignored in many plays going back several years. I have always said, in a funny sort of way, that it was Marlon's screaming Stella that woke up NY critics from their slumber of just watching the same musicals over and over again! PS: My own revolution/decision (after Marlon) has been about the arts and the music from that time, and making sure that it gets some of the credit that it deserves. And so far, a lot of those arts are very well remembered and cared for! ![]() The biggest and weirdest thing would have been why James Lipton did not have a chance to interview Elia Kazan, or Lee Strasburg both of whom would likely have lots of stories to tell if necessary. However when the show got started both of these men had already been at it at least 50 years, and it is likely they felt not up to it, health wise. It's a huge history, that includes every single name in theater and film in America ... and the number of playwrights they helped along the way, is impossible to determine! AND I would like to see it better documented and compiled ... before it goes to waste as a bunch of vignettes on the tube that so few folks will ever watch or give a damn about!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!
