Topic: Japanese New Music Festival Europe 05 Posted: September 20 2005 at 15:39 |
For those interested in the likes of Acid Mothers Temple, Ruins and similar Japanese prog madness, this tour should be interesting. No venue details that I can find as yet, but watch this space.

Venue details have finally been posted - follow the link in my first message in this thread and you'll find details of all venues. The London gig is at 93 Feet East, which is on Brick Lane (close to Liverpool Street/Aldgate etc).

If anybody else is going to the London show at 93 Feet East on November 22 and fancies meeting up, pm me. Should be an interesting night.

For Syzygy,
Hey man, seems like we have the same taste ! This show is gonna ROCK !
I became friends with a couple of the Koenji Hyakkei (高円寺百景) girls (and very nice too.....) by way of working at a live-house in Tokyo (part-time, less than minimum wage, unpaid overtime which is usually 5 hours, 14 hour days without a break not uncommon, but hey ! It's a Japanese Zeuhl Odyssey), and the RIO/Zeuhl scene out here is incredible. Almost every musician I meet is clued up on the minutist detail of the most bizarre genres. Anyway, if yr interested in the J-prog send us a mail. よろしくお願いします!
Have a good one in Brick Lane tonight and I'll see them when they play my gaff this Thursday.
Cheers !
(BTW Magma played 2 mind-blowing gigs in Shibuya a coupla months back. Did they make Blighty...?)

Hajimemash*te!
The Brick Lane gig was amazing - Ruins Alone and Acid Mothers Temple SWR both tore the roof off, but the whole thing was fabulous from start to finish. I've posted a review.
I lived in Nagoya for about 2 1/2 years, although I didn't learn much Japanese . I got into Ruins and the Magaibutsu artists while I was out there. Your job sounds like hard work for little money, but meeting those Koenjihyakkei girls would be worth it I suppose.
I saw Magma play in London in 2000 - I don't think they've played over here for the last 3 years, but it's easy enough to jump on the Eurostar for Paris and they still play there pretty regularly.
Your username and email address didn't format properly - maybe if you pm me it will work.
Keep in touch, and stick around this forum!
