I need to find other UK based prog musicians to help record and further develop around 8 current pieces. Is there anybody out there? Please mail me. |

Hi Dave, Can you give us a few more details? - How far have you got with the pieces? what format are you working in i.e. cuebase, real instruments? what instruments are you after? What's the grand plan? Are there MP3's we can hear of progress so far? I note from your profile that you are 95 years old ..guess we need to be quick M |

Hi Martin, Thanks for your interest and sorry for the delayed reply, I've been checking my Email regularily (the nature of my 'add' being why I asked for Email replies) but have only just looked back at your posting on this site. In essence, I have eight completed pieces and around 6 others in a semi constructed state. This material is currently on Cubase/Pro tools but I want to use real musicians to breathe life into it. The genre is less pastoral than your own material (I checked the Yak site some weeks ago) more abrasive but still 'orchestral' in nature (more ELP/Crimson/Prokofiev than Genesis though I hope not identical to any of these). I really dug some of 'ethereal' (choral type) washes you used on the MP3s. However, as I am a keyboard player I'm principally interested in getting input from other instruments (e.g. Bass, Guitar and vocals) though I wouldn't shut any doors. Most of the'numbers' have vocal lines and some of them currently have lyrics. The 'Grand Plan' is to initially record a CD (as indeed you have done) and then via mailing list and other outlets (e.g. Classic Rock Society) to promote and perform some gigs. Yes I have got some MP3s but I am currently constructing a web site which should hopefully be 'up and running' within the next 3 weeks on which they will be included. I'll include the URL in my Prog forum profile the day I upload it. I am not 95 (around your age) but have a real distaste for data bases (as I am a 'man not a number' to quote McGoohan) and therefore enjoy subverting them as often as possible. Dave |
