Aretha Franklin, the queen of soul, passed away today from pancreatic cancer. She was 76 years old. As reported from CBS news.

What a voice!! So many people influenced by her in so many ways; even Peter Gabriel and Roger Chapman expressed their admiration and attempts as young men to emulate that soulful, funky and deeply expressive sound. Her influence, politically, just cannot be underestimated..
