I think Gentle Giant was more the more consistent of the two, though ELP was better at their peak. I gave GG the nod.

Not a big fan of either, all of their work considered together, but both produced some real highlights. I'm drawn to ELP's early output here and they win narrowly.

Emerson Lake & Palmer for me; their contribution for the whole prog rock genre was more valuable than Genntle Giant and put the keyboard player at the same level as the guitar player.

Although GG were more consistent, I can't get on with their sound and style at all, and ELP at their best appeal to me more. ELP gets the vote.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!
