Two films with guts to tell
story and about the glory and horrors of how being ordinary is questioned with
being special. How expectancy and how things harmonious on the surface but really
aren’t. Great performances by all parts in both films with some really impressive
filming and sculpting of story with surgically clever twists and laced with a custard
of Apollonian illusion of perfection.

American Psycho for me. I enjoyed it, but I wasn't that impressed with American Beauty. I feel the same as Blacksword. Kevin Spacey was as good as ever. I really wanted to see the film, watched it when it came out, particularly because of Kevin Spacey.
Sorry for going off-topic, but speaking of Mr. Spacey I enjoyed this parody by Peter Serafinowicz very much:

I also liked the way Chris Cooper portayed the dispicable father. Very strong acting, some vicios scenes of domestic violence yet also tender moments when he kisses Spacey

Both movies lack finesse, but the pretentious nothingness of American Beauty is a thing to behold. At the very least, American Psycho's Sussudio monologue was funny. Anyway, my vote goes to "neither"
Two random guys agreed to shake hands. Just Because. They felt like it, you know. It was an agreement of sorts...a random agreement.
"Larks' tongues. Wrens' livers. Chaffinch brains. Jaguars' earlobes. Wolf nipple chips. Get 'em while they're hot. They're lovely. Dromedary pretzels, only half a denar."
