2006 ? Nothing ! Tired by electronic, bored of music. Silence for  few years, till Ennio Morricone leads me to RPI.

I'm disappointed Frost*'s Milliontown isn't on this list. That needs to be here.

The Tangent - A Place In The Queue
This band took me by surprise. When all new progbands sounded like Radiohead or Tool, finally a band that sounded like 70's symphonic rock.
I like pastural music and jazzy instrumentation.

No vote. 2006 is probably the most interesting year ending with a 6 (post-1976), but I have only heard A Place in the Queue (a very likely pick because this is an excellent album).

I voted for Zombi over One Shot, but my album of the year in 2006 was Yugen's Labirinto d'Acqua. Also in the Avant Prog camp, I like Non Credo's Impropera, Taiga's OOIOO, and Zaar and October Equus's self-titled albums.

Not to my tastes, but a popular album to be sure. Not disappointed, nor expecting it, but the album not on the list that I would have sooner expected is Kayo Dot's Dowsing Anemone with Copper Tongue, which was the collab album of the year in 2006.
