Topic: Steve Hackett in Lima Posted: August 16 2016 at 10:20
At last, 12 years ago Steve Hackett was programmed but the concert was suspended for lack of interest, they programmed the concert the same day of one by Ricky Martin, and many progheads had to go ro Ricky with their wives and/or girlfriends.
I still have my first line ticket.
Now Steve Hackett and Genetics will play (Sept 8) in the National Theater (Only recognized musicians can play there, mostly classical), it's an special honor.
The acoustic is spectacular, I already bought my US$ 250.00 first line balcony ticket at 10 meters of the the band.
Will try to film the press conference for ProgArchives and if possible a short interview with him.

250$!? getting more insane with each passing year.
This is Perú, the land of taxes
- 10% APDAYC (Copyrights MANDATORY EVEN IF YOU ARE THE AUTHOR)
- IGV (Sales Tax) 18%
- 15% to the artist for his Income as non resident
- 18% of the costs (Planes, hotel, food, etc)
- 7 Dollars to the company that sells the tickets (Ticket Master in this case)
It's 33% of taxes only for the show
So the real cost of the ticket is US$ 160 bucks
But still the tax over the artist contract
We are talking about 123 bucks real cost of the ticket in VIP box, 10 meters of the stage.
More or less here
I'm almost sure the President is coming (Pedro Pablo Kuczynski is a fan of Tull and played flute in the National Symphony Orchestra), so he will have the best box

Paid 44$ to see Floyd in 94, and we all thought at the time that the price was outrageous.
I effectively paid 250$ for Waters The Wall but it was not really my decison, had I placed the order I would have chosen cheaper seats.
Nowadays, I don't exceed 80$ for concert tickets and I'm glad that I've already seen most of my musical heroes over the years (Crimson, VdGG, Flower Kings, Octobre, Fish, Hackett, Gabriel, etc) cos I can't afford them anymore.
Anyway, have fun, this will surely be a night to remember.
Thanks for the clip. Saw two shows on the last US tour - loved the solo stuff set.....he basically touched on all facets of his solo career, everything except a straight up blues number. The Genesis stuff was chillingly good. Oh what a night!

I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....
