Any WOMEN on this site? no..really.
My girlfriends boss, a stapping young lad who is into Siouxie and the Whatnot,you know,power pop/punk garage stuff and me were having a conversation about music and he asked me ( yours truly being a drummer) what I enjoyed the most to listen to and I said without blinking: PROG.
This brought on an strange silence,followed by a reply that still makes me laugh today (this happened a YEAR ago) he said:
Progressive rock? Music 4 lonely guys with no girlfriends!
Ok, I guess you had to be there.But, I do get his point:The music sometimes is downright hard and going in all directions,the topics
arent often about shaking your vertical smile,buying a drink,love y know? Thats exactly why we LIKE THIS STUFF right? Right?
Any WOMEN out here?

Most women just aren't intelligent enough to grasp the complexities of prog rock. (I don't really believe that but since this is a thread about ticking off the women, and since that is one of my favorite hobbies - see my signature below - I figured what the hell).

Maybe, just maybe he's right. I know for one, my wife has very little interest in it, but when a Collective Soul song comes out, whoaaa!
But I'm okay with that, put on some Fates Warning, grab a few brewskies, add a few more decibels.........ahhhhh, does it get any better?

I'm making some progress with my girlfriend, prog-wise. She "tolerates"
most of my music and even likes some of it. She really enjoyed Ozric
Tentacles when I whacked Waterfall Cities on t'other day.
