What are your favorite soundtracks? I'm not talking about soundtracks with multiple popular songs on them, I'm talking about music that was specifically written for a movie! Here are mine:

Pirates of the Caribbean

Star Wars Trilogy (New and Old)

Lord of the Rings Trilogy

Close Encounters of the Third Kind

VANGELIS: 1492 - Conquest Of Paradise  *****   (the film: **-)

VANGELIS: Blade Runner  **** 1/2

(ENNIO MORRICONE: Once Upon a Time In America -Haven't heard it as a soundtrack really. )

I also love Z. Preisner's music in Kieslowski films but they don't work so well without the film... - Double Life of Veronique, Three Colours.

John Barry's 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'- a wonderful score for the best Bond film ever (imo)

Ennio Morricone- The Good, The Bad and The Ugly/ Once Upon A Time In The West; these soundtracks are so stunning that they must be amongst the few films that the film would suffer if the music wasn't there. Classic music for my 2 fave westerns ever.

John Barry - You Only Live Twice

John Barry - Thunderball

Leroy Shield - The Beau Hunks Play The Original "Little Rascals" Music

dead things don't talk too well, they've got a shaky sense of diction.

Best soundtrack ever:  Conan the Barbarian!

Actually, I've not seen the movie yet, but I have a tape of the soundtrack, and it is magnificant!

Lord of the Rings, the Hunt for Red October, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Star Wars also have excellent music.  I'm currently trying to get my band to play a thrashed-up version of main theme of "Pirates"

Don't hurry about the film, soundtrack is better.  Try listening soundtrack of "Alexander Nevsky" by Sergey Profiev, quite similar to Conan's soundtrack, or vice versa actually.

I also have the soundtrack of "Hunt of The Red October", and it's good. Perhaps it works better in the movie still...

exactly, followed by the blusey, melodic rock soundtrack offered by Improved sound limited for the movie 'kings of the road" + the celestial Moog choir of "Aguirre" by Popol Vuh

Klaus Schulze - Body Love I & II (1977)
I've never seen Lasse Braun's porn movie with the soundtrack written by Schulze...unfortunately it surely depends of the versions
