Yeah, it's pretty retarded, especially since it's not like I'm leaving 10x^3/2x, it's like (-8)(3x+5), which looks nicer I guess but really isn't any more clear than -24x-40. I don't know, whatever, it's not worth the effort. Otherwise I think he's a pretty good teacher.

He's only an instructor and only teaches 4 sections, so I guess he has more free time. He has a Master's in Math but mentioned that he worked for Boeing or somebody for a long time, so I'm guessing he probably has a pension and does this for fun. And who would TA at a community college? :P

The hilarious thing about it is that he thinks caring about rationalizing denominators is stupid and Pre-Calc shouldn't obsess about it because it's as minor as ending a sentence with a preposition.

Are you taking Calc II now? Is that more exciting than me learning derivatives again?

lol, it's so bizarre, some college's engineering programs don't accept AP credits for Calculus, I guess they don't believe you learned it well enough in high school, but the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech assume you can start with Calc II first semester.

Google helped, I used Translate to look up kraut and got distracted. They have a lot of languages on there now. You can even listen to the computer speak a bunch of them, although it doesn't work so well.
