DAMN! I had just finished writing a long review of Meshuggah's ObZen when my computer crashed before I could submit it! Damned be my PC!
At least you didn't do like my mom. She had a web class and every time she got near to submitting her homework she would accidentally press backspace and erase it.

F-16's are the worst jet to work on. I would love to meet one of the original designers, shake his hand then beat him to a pulp for making my life a living hell. Also, the USAF needs to get their priorities straight and stop worrying about how many sorties have been flown each month and how thin our waists are. We're maintainers, let us maintain and leave us the f*** alone... SIr.
This is a rant of mine, I hope you enjoy it. In 1998 we moved into a trailer park in south jersey. On the day that I transported the furniture I met my neighbour, who upon introducing himself claimed to be a born again christian. He was a self employed carpenter. After about a week of settling in, I started to notice drug traffic pulling into his house, which would begin at 10:am and end at 2:00pm. I said nothing. My trailer was broken into and I lost about a thousand dollars which was stored in a safe deposit box. I couldn't care less about the money but, was concerned over my childrens well being. I noticed a few of my neighbours had toddlers like me. I felt a bit concerned for their kids so I warned them about the break in. Everyone in the park was doing lawn work that day and so we developed a kind of huddle in the street. Many neighbours said that their lawn mowers were stolen from their backyards and they knew the party involved. They stated that my next door neighbour was the key to the whole mystery.
About 30 minutes later, there was a knock at the door. I answered and was greeted by a state trooper. He asked, are you warning your neighbours about a robbery? I repiled yes we are all concerned about our environment here. He replied, NO! You are concerned about the environment here, I just received 7 complaints from your neighbours for harrassment. He says, let me tell you something, if you continue to talk about this with anyone in the park, I'm going to arrest you. The following night the electricity went out and all H broke loose next door. Their was a fight between the dealer and 3 of his customers. There were death threats and glass breaking in the street. I left the kids with a friend and ran across the park to knock on the owners door. His wife answered and with a pressured voice said, what are you doing knocking on my f door at 10:00 at night? I explained to her what was happening in the park and she said, call the police you idiot! I explained that a power line must have failed and that the phones were not working. She slammed the door. About 30 minutes later, the same state trooper showed up once again and said to never knock on anyone's door in the park. I decribed my neighbour and the incident which had taken place over an hour ago. He responded by asking if I were taking drugs?
In the mornings I would walk my daughter to the bus stop for pre-school. A preacher who lived on the corner approached me and said that the people living at my neighbours trailer were selling bags of white dope to young kids. I asked, you mean teenagers? No! ten year olds he claimed. I asked him, why don't you call the police the next time you see this sort of activity? He replied, what good would it do when it takes the police about 30 minutes to get here? I then phoned the state troopers and spoke to them regarding this matter. They simply stated that no one has issued complaints about this guy. I then took up the new attitude of......When all is said and done, eat me. I rented a u-haul and packed everything in 2 days. I took a stand that day. Regarding justice? I had to make a decision on my own. In order for my kids to live a healthy life, I had to make a stand. It's very much in the past now but, I still don't understand this experience and have a difficult time in making an analogy of the situation. I have never been good at dealing with life experiences in the style of this one.

well it sounds like you certainly hit a nerve with the State Trooper - do you think he was in on the illegal activities? you did the best thing and scarpered, you were in a bad place.
Here in UK I am a local Neighbourhood Watch volunteer, i have contacts with the local Police about any funny goings-on, if they have such neighbourhood schemes in the US it might be an idea to organise one in the area you are in now.

I believe that in a court of law, things would have taken a turn for the worse regarding the actions that were taken against me. I think if my kids lives were on the line(which they were), it would have opended up a whole new book of worms in court. Ijust didn't have the money for a lawyer or the time. It's really ironic how the people who confessed their grief over the activity in the place, were the ones who filed a complaint against me. God forbid if my kids would have been caught in the line of fire during a drug war. The people who filed the complaint would be the first ones to run to the cops and tell them that I was not a good father and that it was because of me that harm was brought to my kids. It's a common act for people like this. They run to the side which is most intimidating. They are what I must define as simply south jersey red necks. They try so hard to emulate the characteristics of a person from the southern United States. Which is an insult to the SOUTH because most people I've met in the south are generally nice and good hearted people. Whereas red necks in South Jersey are cranky, macho, and just plain nasty. They are very egotistical driven.

i know some people in England just like that - they are called Football supporters
the ones over here are bald, tattooed, keep pit bulls and support the BNP, and will punch you if you look at them - and that's just the women...
Football supporters? It's the same all over isn't it?...........This is the ranting room is it not? Here is another rant. In 2004, I was shopping for a second hand guitar in a music store located in Vineland, N.J. I had my daughter with me and at that time she was 2 years old. I carried her in my arms while shopping. Everyone on the staff was taking a break and they were seated next to where I did my browsing. A man approached me and said: You are John right? I said, yes can I help you? He said "I am going to kill you". I looked at him puzzled and asked what this was all about? He then said: You killed my dog. It happened 25 years ago. The staff watched the anger grow in my eyes and heard the pressured speech that this man conveyed.
For the life of me, I did not know this man. I thought in my head, Excuse me but I am holding a little girl in my arms. What the H is your problem? I said nothing and was confused. I rode over to an old friend's house and he said that the guys dog was killed on the day that me and my first wife had seperated. The dog was struck by a car and died on Rt. 40 in Buena N.J. He told me the guy's name and it took about an hour to remember the incident. My wife at the time, had taken the dog in and cared for it. She was friends with this guy who lived behind us. The day that my wife left, I packed my things and also left. This person has been blaming me for the death of his dog for 25 years and it wasn't my doing.
I called a phone number listed with the guy's last name and spoke to a woman. I asked if she was related to this chap and she said yes but, would not reveal if she was the wife or mother. I stated that I did not appreciate his attitude and that I would like to clear up the issue. She hung up. Minutes later, a State Trooper called my house and asked if I had spoken vulgar to the woman? As it turns out, there was a guy living next door who I knew in my youth that painted a bad picture of me to the officer. He was friends with the guy who was feeling anger over the loss of his dog. The trooper then said that I would be getting a summons to court. I asked him: Doesn't my story matter to you? He repiled No! it does not! not after the way you have treated this woman.
I said, don't you yell at me! Do you think just because you are a police officer, I'm scared of you? I simply told him that I wasn't going to back down regarding this particular incident. The police then drove to the music store to obtain information from the staff who at the time, witnessed the entire confrontation. Not only did they deny seeing such an incident happen but, they lied and said that I was not even in the store that day. Don't you love it? Such a lovely bunch aren't they?
I hired a lawyer and it cost me three hundred dollars. I went to court and the lady dropped the charges. Excuse me but, did I just pay $300 dollars for this guy's anquish? Is that the concept? I have detached myself from the Vineland music store staff since then. This happened 25 years ago and come to find out, this guy was having a fling with my first wife. The dog was part of their means to an end. These types of people are dirt bag degenerates that are on a red neck mission. This guy is a school teacher. God help us! Everytime my butt is in a sling like this, I tend to get foul due to the territory it derives from. Listening to ZZ TOP and watching the super bowl, and beating the crap out of my wife, and hating black citizens because the color of their skin is different from mine, is not my cup of tea, if you know what I mean? I was minding my own business while shopping in their store. I will never forgive these people for what they did during a crucial time when I was raising and providing for my little girl. I will resent them naturally for the rest of my life.

Hey Toddler: move to Pennsylvania!

Easier to move across a river than an ocean, mate...
i know but my point was that wherever you live in the world you will end up bumping into someone that will want to make trouble for you...even in somewhere like Surrey, and they ain't all redneck gorillas... i found some of the world's worst people here in England...but our Policemen are wonderful
my little rant - recently somebody bashed into my car while it was parked while i was sitting in it......they were very sorry, took their address, a few weeks later they changed their story and they told their insurance that I had hit them..
i told my insurers they were lying but they said i must have a witness....WTF....
i won't bother following it up, i have their address.....i know from experience i could be arrested for "harrassment"
