I don't really get that from genesis, but then I've only seen limited live footage for the 'good ol' days'. ELP I can see, but I still like their studio albums just fine (at least the first four or five).

Well, I was watching that new '73 concert video, which has some really good production values, unlike a lot of videos of those concerts up on Youtube. But also, just the way they sequenced their show, the lighting, Peter Gabriel in general, just makes it seem like it would have been amazing to be there. It wasn't like they were especially good players live. In fact Steve Hackett rushes and drags like crazy. For as much as prog has a reputation for being rhythmically complex, some of those bands didn't actually have the most solid sense of rhythm all the time.

I wasn't listening very actively, but I liked what I heard. Will listen to it again soon. I like both Derek Bailey and Evan Parker a lot, but actually, the other guy was the highlight.

^ Good answer. One of the best in that style. And yes, Han Bennink is the best. <3
