here's to a great season by the Caps... watch out next year for them.....and here's  to the rule change the NHL will/should  do in the off season about goalie interference..  Who knows how the game might have changed.. but Philly's  2nd goal should have never been allowed.  If throwing a man into the goaltender and knocking him down and completely out of the play isn't interference.. what is...

there's argument that since the puck was near the defenceman it was a legal hit, even if it took Huet out of the play (and the entire net) completely. I personally disagree with the call, and thing there should have been no goal on the play.

The caps are going to be unbelieveable next year if they can hold on the federov and huet, and all their great young stars...no worries about Ovechkin, he's sealed in pretty tight.

My team is still in the playoffs after defeating the wild 4 games to 2. Hopefully they can revive their rivalry with the wings.

GO AVS GO.

Looking forward to the Wings and the Avs.  Should be a great series.  With all of their additions at the end of the year, the Avs are much better than a number 6 seed.  Normally, the number one seed would be thrilled with the re-seeding rules so they get to play the number 6 seed instead of the winner of the number 4 versus number 5 series, but Colorado is going to be a tough seed. Of course, at this point all of the teams are great, so it is going to come down to which team's goalie plays the best and which teams get the lucky bounces that find their way into the back of the net.

Yes the Caps game was quite upsetting.  That shouldn't have been a goal, oh well.  Let's go HABs, AVs, and Stars!

It was a really good game last night.  The Wings beat the Avs 4-3.  The problem with being at the game versus watching it on TV is I spent way to much time trying to figure out if Forsberg was playing or not.  Turns out he wasn't playing because he had "man pains", but I didn't know that until after the game.

Appropriately, they showed Detroit Lion Dominic Raiola on the big screen and the Red Wings went into the bend but don't break defense mode, which has been a fixture of the Lions for as long as I can remember.  (Problem being that for the Lions it breaks more than it "don't break").  Osgood looked pretty shaky last night, but he did make a couple of really good saves including the one with 5 seconds left on the clock.  After the Wings jumped out to a 4-1 lead, we really had the sense that it was going to be a cakewalk, but Colorado played hard and game back with 2 goals to make a real game out of it.  The heart was racing all through out the 3rd period.  It is hard to believe that the Avs only had 6 shots in the 3rd period, since it seems that about 15 minutes of it were played in the Wings zone.

I'll be at the Tigers' game on Saturday so I will miss the Wings game.  Both games are nationally televised at approximately the same time.  I will be bringing my little TV with me to the game though in order to check in from time to time.

Watch out for the Stars!  They've got a ton of momentum going for them right now and they believe they can win this whole shootin' match.  Turco's blocking shots right and left.

If things continue as they are going it will be awfully nice of the Stars to take out the Sharks, so the Wings don't have to go that route.  Unfortunately, that past sentence means absolutely nothing because obviously if the experts thought that the Sharks would beat the Wings, it would only make sense that the team that beat the Sharks would have an even better chance of beating the Wings.

But no need to put the cart in front of the horse.  Both teams still have business to finish up in their current playoff matches.

All of these photos suck, how about:

Unfortunatley, my team is down 3-0 to the stupid dead things. Hopefully they can pull a Red-Sox LOL. It's been a pretty good series too, aside from game 2 that is Dead. One thing to keep in mind though, the avs haven't had an entire healthy game so far this series.

Game 1: No Forsberg, Wolski injured during game.
Game 2: No Forsberg, No Wolski, No Hannan
Game 3: No Smyth, No Wolski, Stastny injured during 1st period.

I just hope the Avs can pull a few out and maybe come from behind and win.

^ aren't half of those pictures cheap shots or penalties by the Avs? ShockedLOL

I feel ya with the injuries, I hate it to come down to that. Id rather have a great game where both teams are full strength and play incredibly . . . and then have the wings win anyways Embarrassed

Hope the Stars end this series with the Sharks today at home.  If it goes back to San Jose I think the Stars will have blown a great opportunity.

The Stars saved face and avoided a sweep.  Kinda like David getting a grazing shot in on Goliath....

Strangely, top teams from each conference facing each other, rather than the usual massive favourite vs the miracle underdog.
