With me, yes; only because I find there is no logic to your clue that will allow me to work out what Parched Orb may be.
With Parched Orb, I don't readily recognise a band who's name would make me think 'That's It'. (I know it will be obvious once solved.) I've hunted ProgArchives and Allmusic using key words like Earth, World, Sphere, Burnt & Burned and got nothing even close (unless you are thinking that a head is an orb and we could stretch the answer to Burnt Noodle). After a little time searching, I lost interest.
I know you didn't like the cryptic-style clues but at least with these the answer is always somewhere in the clue. Even if you don't know the answer, you know its there and you just have to work it out.
Good luck with the thread! I will pop in from time to time to see if I can solve whatever is on offer at the time.

Okay since the thread seems dead, I'll provide the answer to this one.
Parched Satellite = Thirsty Moon!
I'll try a cryptic clue if I can gin one up.
I in the end

The Enid is exactly right! Maybe I can grapple with those cryptic clues after all.
Try this:

The next ... one-word band name:
Stop! start, and the meek will about face

Threshold is correct!
I'm working on the meek turning around.

Is it Skeem?
If it is, you are going to need to explain the 'Stop! start' part of the clue to me.

SKEEM it is ... 'Stop! start' is looking for the start of the word Stop, thus the letter S.
Start or beginning or end or finish or other words decribing beginnings and endings can mean you are looking for one or more characters from the beginning of a word ... but not always.
Ends usually means one or more characters from both ends of a word or pharse need to be plucked out.
'In'-type words - in, inside, within, etc. - usually means a word or part of the word is lurking inside a word or phrase.
About and around and similar words usually mean that a word (or works) in the clue is wrapped around another word or letter.
Clear as mud!
