I am glad nobody has posted since Fitzcarraldos one on the last page. I have just been reading his review of Brain Salad Surgery http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_CD. asp?cd_id=1872 Having spent years reading reviews of albums in Q Magazine and its sort being negative about progressive rock I must say that Fitzcarraldos review made me want to by the CD, and it is very well written too. Bravo. Edited by Rooibos |

It is a great review Fitz... altho I'm feeling a little bit left out. I've reviewed that album 3 times already... and entered it 3 times... and it has yet to ever show up. I'm starting to feel a little traumatized.... I'm usually not the reviewer type.. and this was my first one... and it still won't take.. So I went and reviewed my other favorite album.... ITCOTCK.. and it worked. Am I locked out from reviewing any ELP albums???? |

Had you previously submitted a rating for it? Because if you have, that's your problem. |

^^ Check out Easy Livin's response to that specific post- he said all that was needed to be said. You really combed through this thread, didn't you, trying to find something to flame me about...and that's the best you could do? Neither quote is from me! Maybe you were hoping I wouldn't catch it? I see you also removed a lot of your own posts along the way- why? For the record, I've never said anything but good things (sometimes Very Good Things, if you take the time to read them) about andrea's reviews, and never criticized anyone's use of english on this thread. If you think I'm hiding malice in humor, you're completely mistaken...I have stated and restated the purpose of this thread too many times...but there are a lot of people who are way too sensitive about the tender feelings of imagined strangers. The only person who replied here after being roasted was "penguinf12", and it doesn't seem like there is any bitterness there. I was really hoping andrea would show up and post here sooner or later. If anyone is actually offended by anything I've ever said about their reviews, please let me know immediately, either on this thread or by private message. I'm speaking to the actual authors, not their well-meaning advocates or overly sensitive busybodies. Edited by James Lee |

....you let the cat out of the bag when you told me how much it bugged ya in your letter...I just exploited a possible weakness. All is fair in love and war...eh James
P.S...that was the best time I have had in weeks on this forum....thanks! |

REVIEWS THAT STAND OUT: My reviews! They stand out because I wrote them! (and what you write, you pay attention to!) I'm not sure if this applies to anyone else... |

So... let me get this straight. You only read your own reviews? At least then you will always agree with what the reviewer has to say. |

Why am I responsible for what other people write? Why is this thread stupid? I guess we'll just have to let this thread die...too much room for misunderstanding. If I'd wanted to start a thread just for bashing reviews, I would have just called it "Reviews that Suck"...and there would be a lot more examples. speaking of which, VB: your opinion of your wife's skills is commendably loyal and understandably subjective. It was a good review, unquestionably, but no better than a fair number of others in the database (and a little lengthy...but perhaps she was making up for your reviews' occasional lack of depth?). And anyway I'd still rather read the ones by 'andrea salvador'...not to trash them, but because they're just enjoyable to read! I just won't bother trying to share my appreciation for them with the rest of the world... |

Whoops, one more thing...VB, feel free to use this the next time you run across a thread as sub-moronic as this one. BTW: VB, any progress getting Max to delete this thread? You have my full permission, although I doubt it's worth his time to do it. |

I think this is a great thread James-I always find your reviews highly amusing! Remember Canadians have no sense of humour! Suggested reading: Practically proscribed reading for you Ham Shanks! |

That should be "prescribed," Reedy. "Proscribed" ("prohibited or forbidden") means the opposite of what you intend. Yours in rigid, robotic, unsmiling, smug, pedantic, anal-retentive Canadian HUMOURLESSNESS, Peter Rideout, Esq. Edited by Peter Rideout |
