It’s not actually released, but hopefully it will be. You willl find the links to the other tracks on the right side of the page. None of them are really finished, but I think you will understand where I want to get in the end. Have a nice evening!

Is this humorous, am I allowed to laugh?

sorry it is very funny

did you use words from the create a song thread?

I like it so far.

I’m glad you see the humour. Otherwise you can’t understand the song, so — yes, you’re allowed to laugh (I do!). And it’s the other way around: I use parts of my lyrics in the create a song thread, but mostly I write new parts for that thread. Maybe I can use some of it it new songs … Cheers!

I always wanted to make an album covering "The Planets" by Gustav Holst

The story being it is sometime in the future and a scientist, responsible for creating the latest missile, is appalled at a war that broke out esp with his missile being used. Realizing the end of the world is coming he builds a private rocket, not wanting to be on Earth to see its end.

He blasts off into space. This is all song 1.
Then the next 7 songs would be the music, the idea being he is passing by each planet of course.

Just a vague idea in my head, and not perfect, but I think its a cool start point

Interesting idea, what with Mars (the first movement in Holst's suite) being the bringer of War, you could include themes from that in track 1.

In 2005 I created my own take on The Planets using the Trans-Neptune Objects as the subject matter. I called the album Oligarchy (details here) - it featured two tracks called Kuiper and Oort (after the Kuiper Belt and the Oort Cloud where these planetary objects are thought to have originated) and featured 8 TNO's (Quaoar, Sedna, Ixion, Orcus, Chiron, Charon and Varuna) and closes with the mysterious tenth planet (Planet X).

Somewhat coincidentally, just as Holst's album didn't feature Pluto (because he composed the suite before it was discovered), my album also misses it because I composed my album before Pluto was down-graded to a minor Planet.
What?

No, you should get the wompire yourself. Luckily for you, we've got a store in Atlantis where the caged wompires are stored.

Some of them are pretty big, but you can also pick a young wompire. Be aware though, they can be obnoxious b*****ds, definitely in their puberty.

Are you suggesting I should pick a young wompire and tell the police she told me she was 18?

ASHFLAME
1. The End (4:50)
A messenger tells Ashflame that he is dead and that he will relive the most important moments of his life.
2. The Start (2:39)
A doctor declares that Ashflame is born and that he is healthy.
3. A Parent Problem (4:11)
Ashflame’s mother (Ashley) loves her son so much that it borders to madness. His father turns out not to be his father (Ashley has been cheating on him), so he hates the boy and calls him "brat boy".
4. Born to Disgrace (2:45)
The infant feels trapped between his mother’s unhealthy love and his stepfathers hate and resentment.
5. Night (4:40)
Ashflame is a teenager. He’s got some romantic ideas and laments the division between him and "Nature".
6. Dreaming of Ruth (3:21)
Sexual awakening.
7. A Vision of a Mission (2:16)
Ashflame decides to be a writer.
8. The Writer, the Play and the Critics (9:04)
Ashflame writes a play. We witness the first night (the play is described in an instrumental interlude). The critics are mixed, but in the end everyone agrees that he is a genious.
9. Lament (3:55)
Ruth is singing. She’s Ashflame’s girlfriend now, but realises that it cannot last because she can never replace his mother.
10. Ruthless (not finished, probably 6-7 minutes)
Ruthless has left Ashflame. Ashflame blames his stepfather (Damon) and decides to kill him.
11. Afterthoughts and Permutations (instrumental – I have noe idea how long it will be, maybe 3-5 minutes)
12. Violent Night (around 10 minutes)
Ashflame tries to kill Damon, but Damon is prepared and kills Ashflame with an awl. Then Ashley kills Damon and herself.
13. Meaningless Conclusion (2-3 minutes)
Ashflame accuses me of ruining his life since I was the one who wrote it. The irony of it is that I also wrote his complaints.

Hopefully I’ve managed to find the right balance between drama, beauty and humour.

Here's a quick song-based review for what exists:

Jellyfish in Ice's debut is something that I have never heard before, an album wrote only in midi! yes, that's right, every single instrument on the album is midi, except for the vocals, of course.

The album starts with, the ironically named, The End. The song's opening sounds just like Camel's The Great Marsh. The song is about a heavenly messenger coming to the album's hero, Ashflame, and telling him that he is dead, and he will now relive the most important moments of his life. The vocals are deep, and reminiscent of Leonard Cohen and Peter Gabriel in certain parts.

Trendsetter win!

The search for nonexistent perfection.

You missed the guitar. It’s not midi.
