Should be a pretty interesting race tomorrow with Hamilton on poll, Hulkenberg 2nd and Button 3rd on the grid. Amazing lap from Wehrlein to get the Manor into 12th as well.

JENSON!!!  I'll just enjoy him starting 3rd, because there's no way he holds on to it during the race.

Actually I'm going to bet none, unlike in qualy there's no need to go all out and risk the car for a banzai lap, they'll know where the limit is and not go over it.

6 Hours at the Glen is this weekend, too.  And the Daytona night race is about to begin.  Good weekend!

Spectacular race, great to see the Mercs fighting each other for the win right into the last lap. Not sure what Rosberg thought he was doing, silly error at turn 1 taking too much kerb and giving Hamilton a run on him and then just not turning in at all in turn 2 forcing a collison with Lewis where he came out much worse.

Great drive from Wehrlein to give Manor their first point since Binachi in Monaco 2 years ago, and pushing Bottas Williams for 9th hard at the end there. Excellent drive from Button as well to get 6th.

Hamilton's got the lead now, so I think we can call it.  And I'm genuinely thrilled that Button had a very solid, consistent race today to finish 6th.  Nothing fluky about it, either.

Oh, he does.  Dammit, ESPN, fix your stupid app. LOL

And looking at points now, how is it that Kimi's job is in jeopardy when he's tied with Seb?  It would be stupid to let him go.

Kimi's had more luck than Seb, they're tied on points but Vettel had the tyre failure today, the crash in Russia, the engine failure in Bahrain, screwed up strategy in Barcelona. Kimi drove quite well today but he doesn't go like that on a regular basis.

Ahh nice. thanks for that. Luckily they did play it. But i'll keep this I mind for the future.

And excellent F1GP. Shame Nico kinda lost it at the end there.

Crazy how the Merc 1-2 has come to a bit of an interlude. I knew things were way too early, especially with Hami being involved, and he's now basically closed the gap. I mean one more Lewis win and Nico 4th wipes out the remaining gap. But was nice while it lasted, the battle is on now.

Another great result for Verstappen though Button is clearly the big winner of the race.

I was wondering where Will Power has been. Ticked off 2 consecutive wins and is already into 3rd place.

I'd say Wehrlein was the biggest winner. I hadn't realised when watching but the Mannor team had mistimed his pitstop under the safety car and he was 12s off the back of the field when the lights went green, and he still got it back inot the points and was fighting Bottas Williams for 9th right at the end. Pretty impressive considering where Manor are, and Haryanto ran last pretty much all race.

Before I end my brief visit to PA and head back to Blightly to finish off some archival work, would you resident PA motorsports fans and competitors comment on the first year of Hass F1, at least so far for this season.
Is it beginner's luck with more to come, or will Hass suffer the sophomore blues next season?

It's been an excellent start with their biggest problem basically being a general lack of experience so it's taking them a little longer than other teams to get arround problems, but that will change in time.

As for next year, not sure. There are significant rule changes for next year and the problem here is that they rely on Ferrari for so many of their parts. Ferrari wont tell them what the dimensions and tollerances of these parts are until there design is locked down, and like all front running teams they leave that as late as possible to push things as much as they can. This leaves Haas designing a car around Ferrari parts that they aren't entirely certain of the size and weight of.

Ferrari have already said they're focusing on 2017 now so that could be a good thing for Haas, potentially getting important information relatively early, beyond that they seem to have a good team of engineers that have created a very good, usable car, if they can keep that up they should do nicely next year as well.

Haas has been fantastic so far, especially this being their rookie season, although Grosjean has definitely carried the team.  If they had a stronger #2, who knows how many points they'd have right now.

Honestly, not many more. There big chances to score points came in the first two races where Gutierrez had mechanical failures whilst in points scoring positions. Since then the team has had set up problems in working the tyres so hasn't really had much more chance to score points but he probably should have done so in Austria.
