Yes yes YES!!!

Outstanding, my friend! I've got `Riktigt Akta' on a beautiful picture disc vinyl. It took me a few plays to really start to appreciate it, I was quite underwhelmed on my first listen, so keep at it unless you loved it right away!

That devil on the front cover really freaks me out, just like the one on Goblin's `Roller'! Gives the music a very sinister air! I think I react like that because of the strict Catholic upbringing my mother instilled in me!

As for my choices last night:

Ligro - Dictionary 2
Cherry Five - s/t
Curved Air - Air Cut
Focus - 3
Santana - Welcome
Altus - Sidereal Saga 3: Orion
Altus - The Elements IV: Air
Spock's Beard - Brief Nocturnes...

Marillion - Misplaced Childhood

Miles Davis - Get Up With It
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
I consider drone metal to be progressive...

I actually avoided Lanberk all these years for some reason, but only recently found out Mr. Fiske is there (Yeah I know...it's my bad). But believe me half way through I knew it's a keeper. After only two more spins today I can clearly say it's an excellent album and quite special too!

Love that Cherry Five album man!!

You know, I FINALLY fell for that Cherry Five album on that listen! I've always kind of thought `meh', but it just now fell into place!

I think on first listen of that Landberk, I was shocked at the vocals. The music is quite downbeat, sinister, brooding...and the vocals seemed quite hearty and a little too relaxed! But I actually find these days that the vocals have a very RPI quality to them, kind of took me by surprise. Just gave it another listen too.

Yep... I had that Cherry Five album for years before I finally got it, I guess it's because I was expecting something more RPIish. But I'm glad I was stubborn with it.

You perfectly described that Landberk album, that's what I meant by special. I was expecting it to be more rocky, maybe in the vein of Dungen, but they certainly tried a different approach. Excellent stuff! I'm looking forward to getting another one.

How you guys managing to listen to 5 or 6 cds a day?

Im not saying I dont have the time, Im saying  - are you not fatigued after 2 or 3 cds?

I suspect lots of this listening is secondhand, background listening.

That does never do the music justice.
