It's amazing. All the core gameplay mechanics work excellently. I'm not bored of it, just a little worn out. There's a lot to do and it has great replay value so far. The story is intensely compelling and they do everything right to make you feel like you're in a living, breathing universe. There's a wealth of literature in-game that key's you in on the climate of the time, and the art direction and desing is cyber-punk of the finest caliber. As a matter of fact, in all my experience in sci-fi, I'd rate it second only to Blade Runner in creating a striking atmosphere. Only negatives I have qualm with are hard to locate merchants, difficult to navigate city hubs, and (from reviews, though this hasn't bothered me personally) you have to kill the bosses in the game, so you technically can't be 100% virtuous.

It's better than the original Deus Ex, though not quite as visionary, and the only single player only science-fiction games I know of that rival it are the Metal Gear Solid games. And I would personally rate this over them all except maybe possibly Snake Eater, which isn't very sci fi.

10/10. Replays will depend on whether that drops to a 9.5.

But I am only 20-25 hours in. I suppose It could turn out terribly. ;)

Oh and I guess the voice acting can be a bit meh sometimes, but still, not many games blow me away. This is like my Inception. A lot of people loved Inception, it has great ratings, but it was one of the very few movies that totally resonated with me. This is one of those games.

NOTHING is better than MGS, stonie.  I refuse to believe that.

But I may need to pick up that game now.  I never played the original Deus Ex, unfortunately.

The thing is, it might be hard to go back to Deus Ex objectively. Same with a lot of old games. It looks like rotten ass. The gameplay is still fun and neat, but it's still very simplistic in a lot of ways.
