Choirs of the Eye is post-metal and I don't give a f**k about what anybody else says because I'm a musical gangsta.

And America is a much better place to live for music than Europe.

If you buy every disc separately (6 discs in total) + the box, it adds up to about 25 pounds + Whatever it costs to get 7 items shipped, so I'm guessing I saved about (or possibly >) 12 pounds in shipping. They should've put it onto one disc, but you'd usually pay (the equivalent of) 3 pounds for a CD single here anyway.

Luke, is Panopticon by Isis any good? I saw it cheap in a store yesterday.

Hell yes it is. I'd definitely grab it you if I were you. One of the best Sludge Metal/Post Rock  albums of all time.

Edited for a genre of music that actually exists. Wink

Seriously though, I like the "post-metal" bands I heard, but I hate the name of the genre given to many of those bands. I usually refer to them as "sludge metal" or "post-rock".

Well..EXCUSE ME. LOL Yea, I agree with you. Didn't wanna throw anyone off though, because they are listed under Post-Metal here. Wink

I know they are. But I've seen people start calling bands like Kayo Dot and maudlin of the Well "post-metal", and they aren't in the same musical categories as bands like Isis, Pelican, Neurosis, etc. But oh well. There are bigger things to complain about.

In other news, only 2 more days until I give the girl I like a 3-lb chocolate heart and ask her out. Big smile

Ohh, I see where you're coming from...I'd never call Kayo Dot Post-Metal.(wtf) I actually think Kayo Dot should be in Avant-prog. but anyway......

That's great about the girl, I though you were already with her. This is much more exciting....Let me know how it goes. Smile

I definitely will. Smile

@KoS: She wanted a 5-lb chocolate bar more than anything else for Christmas, and I specifically saw her point out that she would enjoy having this 3-lb chocolate heart that I got her. So shove it. Tongue

It would have to be pretty damn good for that price.

You can justify all you want, but you're still paying 44 US dollars for a single album that's only 50% original material! And bravo for them to for charging more for the box (ignoring shipping) than for each individually... :/

Egyptian Kings. That's all.
This will also have to be the only good album that uses Hubble photography as its artwork.

No, it's not.

You can take me out of the gutter, but you can't take the gutter out of my mind.

Thats because the box comes with other CD sleeves and an art book.

STEVEN WILSON - Cover Version (any one of I - V) (US/ROTW shipping) Total: £6.00GBP

Thats the paypal invoice for one CD + shipping to Australia. So I would have payed that, 5 times, in addition to the box set which only comes with the most recent CD, which costs:
STEVEN WILSON - Cover Version VI (US/ROTW shipping) Total: £11.70GBP

So I payed 28 pounds (inc. shipping) instead of 6 X 5 + 11.70, saving 13.70 pounds.

What exactly does the Box set contain?

Also, I might look into some I.E.M.

The box comes with the 5 Cover Versions released so far, + the new one (cover version 6), + a box in which to store them, + new CD sleeves for each one, + an art book.

There's an IEM boxset coming out soon. I've heard Arcadia Son, pretty much SW plays Krautrock, pretty interesting stuff though.

Right.

I might grab that IEM boxset if I can afford it, and be bothered to pay the shipping around the world.

Most of Arcadia Son sounds like that, not sure about the other albums though.
