I've heard the word "pretentious" an awful lot of times now, but I still don't know what it's supposed to mean. There was nothing wrong with the tent thing, Vompatti.Smile

Yes I know the meaning but I don't know what that's supposed to mean. By the way, remember that I'm went out of bed eearly today and it's pretty late now. There often are weird comments like "Yes (teh band) is rly pretentiousz!" In my mind I then often hear a voice that says "No, they're not". I find it hard to explain but there hasn't been anything yet that has proven me that the word "pretentious" serves a real meaning. The same goes for "filler". I'm getting sick of people whining about every atmospheric short piece on an album and calling it "filler". That last part was a rant for your interest.

Dream Theatre are really pretentious though. And there's nothing but filler on their albums.

I don't think DT are pretentious at all, as they are talented musicians making technical music that they have proven to be able to perform.

Because many people seem to enjoy it? I can't stand them, you can't stand them, but they have a lot of fans and are one of the biggest prog metal bands at the moment.
