stonie, should I watch all of Firefly? I have a feeling I'm going to like it less as it goes on, not more.

You should probably stop since you don't like Dollhouse. Both are pretty awesome and you are fail if you don't like them.

Sounds familiar, but I can't place it.

The video with Tosin is cool.

Drew, Drew, Drew. First of all, I did overall like the pilot, I wouldn't have watched the whole 1.5 hour thing if I hadn't. And no, Dollhouse is not awesome, even your fellow Whedonites were overwhelmed by the mediocrity/terribleness. Sure, Firefly has lots of nerd cred, but there's nothing that should compel you to pretend to like Dollhouse.

They remind me of being halfway between the Ocean and Intronaut, if that helps picture their sound at all.  Their new album is quite excellent so far.

I'm checking them out Thumbs Up

(I still haven't heard Ocean, though).

No Dollhouse is good. It sags for about 3 episodes after the pilot, then gets awesome for the rest of the series. It has two intrinsic problem s I can think of:

1. Hard to care about Eliza Dusku's character at first, because she plays so many different people, you don't get attached.
2. There really isn't a very good reason why her character wasn't retired to the Attic for being a liability after episode 3 or so.

Other than that, the series really picks up and explores excellent philosophical territory. And I still love the dialogue. It kind of suffers from having only one or two episodes in the entire series that are mind-blowingly awesome with everything else being pretty good, but I'm blaming Fox for it. They tried to cram a lot into the last few episodes of each season, and though I was able to follow it, somehow people are dumb and didn't. The whole project works better if it is thought of as a long miniseries with 27 episodes.

Given you dislike 99% of everything, it wouldn't expect you to like anything on TV at all.

What would you advise for an entry point? I see the latest albums aren't rated high.

On the contrary, I think their latest albums are their best.  I would also suggest Precambrian as a good entry point, that was their first major shift in style from more generic post metal to what they are now.

No, I have a solid 1% of TV that I like.

And sorry, but I can't accept blaming Fox for everything. Although I don't know why I'm even asking your opinion on drama/comedy when you like Questionable Content. SPEAKING OF WEBCOMICS
