Public and private schools are only as good as the parents, students, and teachers.  And yes, money does matter, too.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Teaching some math for example???? No thanks...

I, for one, should've saved my money and skipped college.  Unless you are going for specific job training then I'd advise not wasting your time with it.
That said, I'd like to be a college professor because I wouldn't need to do jacksh*t Smile.  It is pretty high up on the lazy mans ideal job list.

You may be exactly right when referring to yourself. TongueLOL

Teaching is an honorable profession if you are good at it.  From what I've heard it doesn't pay crap.  I went into Architecture, yes Architecture.  By the way, it doesn't pay crap either.  You have a few prima donna architects who make a lot of money.  Most of us struggle to make a living.  Maybe one of these days I'll be independently wealthy.  Probably not a good idea to hold my breath. I don't think that teaching is always honorable either; a good bit of the college "education" revolves around propaganda.  But then, I took a lot of political science and history courses.

I plan on being a college professor. I don't see anything noble in the profession, but you sit on your ass, work 20 hours week, and receive a hugely bloated salary and job security unsustainable in a free market. I find this very appealing.

The one thing that never happened to me while going to college for me was getting laid. Cry LOL

I still had a good time though.

I got laid lots of times during my college career.

That's a perk of getting married at 19.  Wink

But sitcoms would have us believe that married men never have sex.

I feel so lied to.

Having kids never stopped the Malcolm In The Middle family.  Probably should have.

Agreed. But a little late for me.
Ask 4 years of wasted time and....well more money than I'd care to disclose.

And on that note...my supervisor was on vacation. Paycheck FINALLY came in

$100 taken out of $481 pay???

It's times like this moment I want to join the tea party and call Obama racist things

It was my major! Thought it'd be easy and look good (nice base for any job)
It sucked and isn't worth jack  except for law school....

Should've just went with business.

And I don't know if its "noble" but I do think teaching can be good, if its done right. Which I intend to.
Part of the reason I want to teach college, can actually teach, more freedom and less general restraint than HS.
Also the better pay and little work is nice Smile
This is why I dropped my original major of education, lazy man's route LOL

Not especially - but I can if you want. Wink

Yes, and we cut everyone a little slack in there so we can expect a modicum of decorum out here with the grown-ups.LOL

Of course we could change that too, it wouldn't take much. Tongue

Ah, another poly sci major.  I'm sure your professors had a lot easier time with you than mine did with me (at least the ones who cared).  It was always amazing to me how willing a lot of college students are to just go along with whatever their told and get completely buried up certain professor's rear ends (keeping the language clean).  It is funny that the same kids hanging on their professors' every words and wearing their Che shirts actual feel they are rebelling against authority.

Time always wins.

^ I get the feeling I have been a little exasperating to my economics professor lately, since I have been disputing many of the conclusions the textbook draws. The textbook says "in this case, general welfare can be increased by subsidizing one firm and regulating the price they can charge."  I respond that the subsidy has to come from taxpayers, redcing their income and shifting their demand curves inward, reducing the number of products produced and resulting ultimately in a declining GDP. My professor sighs and ultimately admits that I am right, but this is only a theorhetical model and not meant for policy decisions. I'm bet he's glad the semester's over. Big smileBig smileBig smile
