Midnight Sun: https://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=11174

Current website (https://midnightsun7.bandcamp.com/releases) gives no info, except to say that the band is from Toronto, Ontario, which doesn't tie in with their history at all. This used to be a good link, and the album was formerly available there, but it's now probably best to replace the Bandcamp link with Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/midnightsunprog/, though how long that one will remain on line for I wouldn't like to say.

The current biography is very brief, but here is their history, which I managed to decipher from Facebook, if you want to replace it.

----------------------------------------------------------

MIDNIGHT SUN: Traditional Prog Metal act from London with big symphonic keyboard soundscapes.
Formed London UK, October 2015. On indefinite hiatus, March 2020.

MIDNIGHT SUN is a project based in London UK involving vocalist Huw LLOYD-JONES (ALSO EDEN, UNTO US), together with his previous ALSO EDEN bandmate Ian HODSON on keyboards. The original, fairly short-lived line up was completed by Steve DUNN on bass, Andy GELBRAND (UNTO US) on guitar and Chris HABICHT on drums. Steve DUNN was replaced on bass by Jack THOMAS in June 2016, and Sam SLATER replaced Chris HABICHT on drums in February 2017 after quite a lengthy search, Chris originally having left the band back in September 2016. Tom ENNIS joined the band as second guitarist in January 2017.

MIDNIGHT SUN have a much harder edge than either of the aforementioned bands, especially since they had moved to a twin guitar line-up, but guitarist Tom ENNIS and bassist Jack THOMAS were soon to throw a spanner in the works by simultaneously leaving the band in December 2017. Ben SWANWICK replaced Jack THOMAS on 2nd guitar in April 2018, with the band being supported live by bassist Sean SPEAR (GREY LADY DOWN, DARWIN'S RADIO). The drumming for their debut album 'Dark Tide Rising' was largely provided by Sam SLATER except for the opening track which features the original MIDNIGHT SUN drummer, Chris HABICHT.

Sam SLATER left the band in December 2018 after recording all his drum parts for the debut album, which was released on Sonicbond & distributed by Nova via Plastic Head on all platforms on June 28th 2019. Following his departure, original drummer Chris HABICHT stood in for him at the band's subsequent live performances.

The band has just that one album to their name, and announced on Facebook, 11th March 2020:
"It is with the deepest regret that we have to announce that Midnight Sun are forced to cancel all forthcoming gigs and go on hiatus with immediate effect."

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'll include the minor update needed for the album here too rather than making a separate post in Errors & Omissions:

- Huw Lloyd-Jones / vocals
- Ian Hodson / keyboards, vocals
- Andy Gelband / guitars
- Sean Spear / bass (1,2,4,5,7)
- Sam Slater / drums (2-7)
- Ben Swanwick / guitars

With:
- Tom Ennis / guitars (6)
- Jack Thomas / bass (3,6)
- Steve Dunn / bass (1)
- Chris Habicht / drums (1)

CD Sonicbond - SONICCD07 (2019, UK)

Digital album

Edit: Since I've kept the original one-line 'biography' just as it was, at the beginning of my own effort, maybe you could just write "Biography updated by David (yam yam), May 2024" at the bottom if you decide to amend the page? Embarrassed

^ Thanks, David, all done.

Yes, the original bio containing the only sentence "Traditional Prog Metal act from London with big symphonic keyboard soundscapes" was whatever but a biography. LOL

Good evening,

This is Brynen Sosa of the New Jersey, USA band Mythology, featured on your website. Firstly, thank you for having us on your wonderful site. It is a great compendium on all things Prog! We have just released our 6th LP "The Story of Sound" back in April, and may I suggest a revamp to our page? Is there anywhere I can upload a current photo of the group? The lineup has changed.

Current website: wearemythology.com

Current Bio:

Hailing from the hills of Northern New Jersey, Mythology has been turning heads since 2007. The brainchild of bandleader/guitarist/vocalist Brynen A. Sosa, their musical perfectionism, classic progressive rock vibes, and high standard of excellence is their biggest calling card. Countless live shows and a dizzying array of recorded output has garnered them a mighty and loyal fanbase. Sosa's modus operandi is a simple one: to create a body of work that is honest, meticulous, prolific, masterful, and full of breadth. All while maintaining a lighthearted lyrical humor to balance out the seriousness of the music!

Currently consisting of Sosa on guitar, long time drum giant Jordan Morrissey, and bass master Dave Lockhart, their chemistry can neither be bought, nor manufactured.

They cull influences from the greats of yesteryear: Yes, Rush, Frank Zappa, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Return To Forever, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, Nine Inch Nails, The Mars Volta, Mel Torme, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole. Their spice rack is extensive, and the soup always fuses many different flavors!

Their upcoming 6th full length studio album "The Story of Sound" is a masterclass in musical confidence, finesse, and high level production. The Story of Sound, a concept album, tells the story of the man who invented music, while taking time for some zany and meta twists and turns in the narrative.

Get ready! Here comes Mythology!

^ Hi Brynen,

I sent you a private message with a link for uploading your band's photo.

Or maybe we can use the one from your bandcamp page?

About your new biography, I'm not sure. It sounds more like an advertisement. Try to keep it more factual.

^ Julien, thanks, the bio is much better now.
I think it would be correct to add that it's written by Brynen Sosa.
