^ Ivan does not know what he's talking about. Bucket has written more progressive music than most 'progressive' artists.

I'd like to know the reasons why Buckethead was rejected in the first place? What songs/albums did they listen to? He belongs somewhere on here, for sure. Prog Avant, or Prog Metal, or Prog Related. If Buckethead isn't progressive then neither is Steve Vai.

We're considering Buckethead (still). He's a very prolific guitarist, and this sort of thing takes time.

My opinion:

Buckethead = Weird music

Weird music = Prog

Buckethead = Prog

That's the law of syllogism, kids

EDIT: Sadly, the prog metal team doesn't agree with me... he's not faring too well

No not the outfit, silly. weird "music." Buckethead isn't your traditional Nickelback pop rock artist. And you obivously didn't read my whole post, seeing as I was promoting him...

I only replied that playing with people who writes Prog is not enough, the two who said Buckethead only plays Prog with Progressive were Timothy Leary and Earendil (Who I believe used the nick Dtm something before).

So please, before claiming I don't know what I'm talking about..Please read who said what you consider false.

PS: My position is that if the Prog Metal Team decided Buckethead is not Prog and the Avant Team equally, insisting to locate him other wise is forcing the situation.

IF PM or Avant had added him, I would had said nothing, but if they rejected him, well I believe he doesn't belong here.

Well, there seems to be exceptions to your thinking Ivan.........for instance.......let's look at the Crimson Jazz Trio.........as far as I know they did not write the King Crimson songs they cover, and it is a stretch to consider them Jazz Fusion, yet they are included here

And I insist in that.

I know a couple of exceptions have been made for a Crimson cover band but that's the general rule here.

We add artists for what they create, if not, we would need to add each and every Muzak artist that has covered Genesis, Yes and whatever music.

Phil Collins and Demis Roussos would be here, because they have played in Prog bands.

Now this doesn't mean or imply that Buckethead doesn't create his music (I honestly don't know it), it's just part of our rules..

Tim, dude, there's no point in arguing with the Ivanator. He's more of a narrow tenter when it comes to additions and I respect that.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...
