Beat me to itLOL

That's why I get angry James, just admit you don't like someone and don't pin these BS reasons to it!
Though now you finally say you just don't like him, even though you still pin the Piquet incident to him. Tongue

I don't know contract details and all that jazz but I hope Massa was on contract to this year...otherwise I'll slap Ferrari for keeping him for so long. I still think it'd be a bit unfair to give a ride to Perez so soon with more deserved drivers out there (thought he clearly has skill) but it sounds like there is a natural road leading to Ferrari for Perez.

Massa has a contract for this year but no doubt that contract has performance clauses in it like all of them do. I actually read today that when other teams come up with their strategies they factor in not how fast the Ferrari is, like they would with other cars, but the different pace of Alonso and Massa, obviously plenty reckon they can get the one and not the other even before a race has started.

Perez is a contracted young Ferrari driver, so he may well get the chance for next year. The elephant in the room on that score is of course Kubica and whether he can recover enough to drive in F1 again. I read not long ago that he drove his own Skoda Fabia WRC on tarmac stages in the north of Italy, not far from where he had his crash, recently.

I also had some sympathy for Massa after his horrific crash, I was all on board for giving him a fair chance to come back...but yeah, whatever the reason he just is not performing.

Indeed poor Kubica. I really hope he can make a full comeback.
Before my time but didn't Hakkinen have a crash that almost resulted in his death? Because he obviously went to have great success so I know it is possible. If anyone has the resiliency it's Kubica.

Yeah he crashed in practice for the Ausi GP at Adelaide 95, hit his head on the tyre wall and they had to operate on him trackside to prevent the pressure in his skull killing him. It left him in a coma and partially deaf in his left ear, but he won 2 world titles a few years later.

I'd say that Massa's problem is that he has no confidence in himself or the car anymore.

The Piquet's never mentioned him as being involved, and since the whole point of bringing it up was revenge they'd certainly want to drop everyone involved in the deep end.

China this weekend. Schumacher has topped second practice with Lewis in second and Vettel third (cant find anyone publishing a full list of practice times yet, bloody rediculous). Hamilton's had to change his gearbox so thast a five place penalty.

Bahrain next week, the FIA have pretty much said it's going ahead, I cant help feeling that thats the wrong decision.

You'd think right?

Finally! This gap feels like it's been a month.
Yeah, I was wondering about Bahrain and was quite surprised to see it still on.
I guess they can't let those damn protesters ruin the event two years in a row!!!

You don't hear a lick of news (guess those crazy Arabs aren't hot press now) but I see bombs and buses were lit up just days ago.
I do hope things will be safe, (and the government doesn't just drop a bomb on themDisapprove)

So no gap between China and Bahrain but three weeks between Mayalsia and China? This makes little sense...but no complaining about quick succession of races.

Woo china! Hoping for a race like last year.

Nico Rosberg on pole!

Mercedes garage is lighting up.
First Mercedes pole since 1955.....well OK there may have been a slight gap in thereLOL

Great for Nico, and Schumi will take 2nd with Lewis losing 5 spots. Some great results while RBR struggles yet again, and again Webber out qualifies.

Wow, Rosberg on poll by a big chunk of time, Raikkonen and Kobayashi make up the second row, Vettel knocked out of a very close Q2. I give up on making predictions, it's just too unpredictable. De la Rosa for the win!

Nice one Nico!  Although to be perfectly honest, I don't think they'll remain at the front for long.  Kobayashi and Raikkonen will probably start well and Hamilton will come through the grid and end up ahead on pitstops.

It's a tough call though for who will win.  I'll go for Hamilton.  His car is fast.

Nico! Clap
Brilliant, bloody brilliant. So happy to see and a well earned first win.

That race was f**king intense, there was a train of cars all race long. So many passes and battles, every pit stop critical, every little move was a big one, just nuts.
McLaren have to be kicking themselves after another botched stop.

That Vettel, Hami, Webber battle at the end was awesome.
Also my boy Kimi deff bottled up the fieldCry never saw such a fall!

Poor Michael...this is karma for hating on him, now I want him to succeed and he's doomed to bad luck!

Just wow that was intense, and congrats to Nico on a great drive and first win.

McLaren does seem to be the best team on the grid, thought just by a bit and Webber seems to be taking the fight to Vettel.
These seasons just keep getting better and better, the field is so level now.

It seems that pole position has become critical. Pretty much no one can catch you when you get to a good start from pole but from 2nd on the racing has been epic.

I just wrote out a long reply only to get that annoying error!  Grrr.

Anyway...

That was a great race.  Well done to Nico!  He deserves it too.  It was a shame about Schumacher, of course and I do wish he'd have not retired.  He'd have likely finished 2nd.

Well done to Button and Hamilton also.  Both had great drives.  Button even though suffering from that poor stop would not have caught Nico but it may have been more interesting.  That whole queue of cars too... wow.  It's close this year in terms of times.

Tires an pitstops are crucial this year.  That 2-stop worked perfectly for Nico.
