Lars: So what is it going to be?

Andres: Well, I'm gonna take some bovine blood...

Lars: Blood? Awesome. That's totally metal. Go on.

Andres: Then I'm gonna mix it with my own semen, and then squish the liquids between two plates of glass and take a picture of it.

Lars: ...

James: BRILLIANT!

No seriously, that's exactly what it is. Why do you think they called it Load?

Yeah, but as far as I know Lars was all for the idea, and James didn't like it.

That's not Zappa, that's Jimmy Carl Black and he's the Indian of the group.

Most of The Flower Kings album covers are pretty bland and ugly.  The only one that I like is Paradox Hotel.  (I've never listened to any full albums by them, though.  This is just from surfing around PA.)

Back in the World of Adventures has an awesome cover, I like the one for Retropolis too.

A lot of their other ones are pretty wtf though. Especially the most recent.

Let's see. We have the Taj Mahal, Buddhist statues and a..... Volkswagon/Goldfish hyrbid?

Why of course, it all fits together.

Unhalfbricking Island, by Fairport Convention

The title of the Fairport album is UNHALFBRICKING. It appeared on the Island label. And it's gorgeous! But you really need the LP format, I guess. Then you can at least see the band properly (inside the garden).

WEASELS ain't half bad either1

Weasels looks like artwork by Roy Lichtenstein... let me check.

EDIT: No, it's a pop-art inspired illustrator/artist. But if I'm not wrong Roy Lichtenstein did some cover albums (though not prog).

Diabolical Masquerade - Nightwork

The album is great, but the cover is just hideous, really.

Just take a glimpse through this thread to see what a bad cover REALLY looks like. Or rather, don't, especially if you are eating.

Stongly dis-a-gree with you on this one.  I love this cover.  Tull have often used dramatic artistic impressions of Ian anderson on their covers (Aqualung for instance).  The 'Stormwatch' cover painting by David Jackson is beautifully realised and fits the music on the album very well.

And I dislike the music so... Tongue
Agree with those other album covers.

That's one of my favorite albums (and album covers) of all time!

I do hate prog metal sleeves, with no exception.
Regarding classic prog, I'd like to tell something about Genesis' Abacab, but it's no prog, apart from Dodo...
