I can top that too - I went to see Val Doonican and Max Bygraves at the London Palladium around 1971.

Try harder, neophyte.

I collect 60s and 70s EZ listening records, I have tons of them. I especially like unusual covers. I found a cassette of Collins era Genesis done instrumentally at a garage sale. The cover of Another Day in Paradise is particularly well done.

P.S. regarding Village people, Hot Cop is a good energetic song, towards the end when the horns get busy and the siren comes in at a different tempo and Victor Willis, who was the bands one really good singer, starts going off improvising, that's good suff.

I sold my Archies vinyl album to a used record dealer at a show about 10 years ago for $40.00.  Poor Jughead never makes the "best drummer" polls.  LOL

Teo - I was hoping I wouldn't need to bring out the big guns, but you leave me with no option:

Now that's embarrassing.

C'mon, Teo - admit defeat before someone gets hurt.

Jim Garten, you've forced me to put my prog and metal credentials on the line... not to mention my already-weak reputation regarding gray matter in my brain... but I won't accept defeat here... So... let it end for me....

I have one LIMP BISKIT album.

Touche.

^ I think Limp Bizkit wins. As a guitar teacher for young teens, I have always let my students play anything they like except limp bisquick, that is the only band I refuse to work with, there is something so phony about them i can't stand them.

I tell my kids, there is metal, and there is rap, but there is no such thing as metal-rap, ha ha, I can do that cos I'm the teacher, ha ha.

I've been listening to a Dr Dre album quite a bit recently.
I couldn't hold that in any longer, I had to let it be known

Oh... I'm sooooo not going to get embarassed for loving Queen and even Brian May's solo albums. Smile

And since almost everybody appears to have a fondness for disco, I'll feel free to add that I think Donna Summers kicks some serious butt (come on, don't tell me Céline Dion is a better singer than her).

I love that Duffy album too Embarrassed

And I just can't get rid of my 2 Ricky Martin CDs. I don't listen to them at all, ever (I promise), but I can't help but think that they could get useful for a party eventually...

I'm not embarrassed about any of the music I like, Embarrassed but some of you proggies out there might think I should be.

I've noticed The Smiths mentioned, I agree they're great along with much of Morrissey's solo stuff.  I also like old stuff by Simple Minds (especially the albums New Gold Dream and Street Fighting Years), Tears For Fears (especially The Seeds of Love album) and Talk Talk.  We have albums by The Prodigy and Eminem in our house.  I also like some Chris Rea, I love his voice.

Anyhow I'm not as embarrassing as my boyfriend, who really likes "Don't Ya Wish Your Girlfriend Was Hot Like Me" by the Pussycat Dolls!

Further to the above, I must confess to having bought the following singles when I was a kid:-

'Mull of Kintyre' by Wings (or was it just Paul McCartney?) - I still like this one though!
'Matchstickmen' by Brian & Michael (oh dear)
'Do Ya Think I'm Sexy' by Rod Stewart (CRINGE!? - Nope, I still like this one too!!!)

I also remember buying the single 'Tusk' by Fleetwood Mac - I loved it at the time but, having heard it again recently, I've no idea why!!! Embarrassed
