I consider it instrumental if the voices do not contain words meant to be understood by the audience (e.g. Larks' Tongues In Aspic) and/or do not coincide with the musical content (i.e. voices at the start, then music).

Nice.  I still plan on bringing whorey drunk girls back from parties and then blasting Space Ritual at them.  It's one of my dreams.

I'd say no.

Unless it's really only a little bit.

If it's a poem to music, like John Cooper Clark, then no.
If it's music with some brief words or noises, like Weidorje, then possibly.

It's so hard to say almost. Stuff like TD or Ozrics definitely is instrumental and music with singing definitely isn't, but in between that it's harder to tell.

I would say Weidorje is instrumental.

I hear that everyday. Everywhere around me. And I still think it's the hottest thing ever.

RIP in bossa nova heaven.

Also, if it's sampled speech, like Godspeed, that's instrumental.

You're so gay, you got My Chemical Romance to re-record The Black Parade for you and repackage it as The Gay Parade.

Which is amusing, 'cause Gerard Way is gay in a very Gerard Way kinda way.

I think it is. Except if the spoken voices take the main spotlight. Like recited poetry for example. If it's only ambient spoken voices, I call it instrumental.

This could actually warrant quite an interesting discussion topic.

Thanks for the responses, guys! Big smile

For some reason, my eyes thought they've seen Dude looks like a lady by Aerosmith in James' last played tracks.

I thought the end of the world was near.

RIP in bossa nova heaven.

Yeah, that's logical. I only started wondering since I'm listening to our band's first album (which we just finished and is to be released after I copyright and all that other crap), and it's all instrumental except an occasional vocal phrase and artistic use of several voices at the beginning of another song that fits the concept.

How the hell did you see that?  There's nothing remotely like that in my playlist!

And I don't Wanna Miss A Thing is awful.

I cannot eat McDonalds anymore, it just doesn't taste right.
I only eat Burger King and KFC (well, given that's about all the fast food choices we have around here anyway).
