Hmm. RBS share price has dropped 33% today. Now less than £1 when they were over £6 not long ago.
If I'm not here tomorrow it's because we've gone bankrupt and I'm out of a job.

Gordon Brown is in a meeting with the governot of the Bank Of England at this very moment - it's not a crisis meeting though, oh no... it's merely to 'address ongoing banking issues'

Is Darling playing a big role over there?  Our Treasury Secretary might as well be the 4th branch of our government at this point...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/financetopics/financialcrisis/3141911/Financial-crisis-Gordon-Brown-is-urged-to-guarantee-deposits.html

Senior bankers are also understood to be pressing the Government to rethink its current plans to extend the Financial Services Compensation Scheme from its current level of £35,000 to £50,000, which takes effect tomorrow . They favour a full guarantee for the £2 trillion-worth of deposits.

Wow.  Shocked

You're correct about the £20 but I should point out that the share price was devalued after that when they did a rights issue. It changed to something around the £6 mark soon after that.

As this is the Shed and pulling the last two topics together I just want to say that I made a very healthy and inexpensive home grown, home made beetroot soup. Well it was until I flavoured it with a bit of Pernod. Smile

Sounds disgusting? Well, if you like aniseed the combination is superb. Only a few drops per serving, though, as it tends to overpower the other ingredients.

Not that I want to split hairs but this is just plain old beetroot soup. Borscht has spuds, cabbage, toms and carrots in it. A meal in itself according to the recipe books.Wink
