That's great Andrea, I wrote to the gentleman to thank him for providing that. Very cool.

That is really cool! Nice album, and it's always great to have context. It helps you appreciate things more.

Man Iīve been listening to this album all day, and it only seems to get better with every spin:
(The cover is also refreshingly absurd, and just my kind of thing) The interplay between the sax and guitar is just astonishingly brilliant, and rather reminds me of Danish bands Burninī Red Ivanhoe and Secret Oyster. Both with Karsten Vogel wielding the sax. I guess they just lack the Italian vocals, but then again the vocals of Melos are not that typical "Italian" - I feel they are much closer to Procession and Il Balletto than PFM and Le Orme. Anybody else out there who loves this one off gem?

Yes! This album is a dominant gene! It's one of my favs, and probably my first RPI album, and I definitely see the likeness between the two vocals styles of Il Balletto and Cervello. And I can't believe how great the title track is, a subtle moment.

^The title track is perhaps also my fave, but in all fairness the album just jumps from strength to strength
Do you have any of the 2 Procession albums Zorro? If not, then have a listen. I couldnīt possibly choose between them though - they are just magnificent in each their own way Gotta love this track - seems to me as the Italian equivalent of Zeppelinīs No Quarter, albeit with a slightly more gentle touch: |

I personnaly prefer the second one. Concerning the Melos album "Cervello", nothing to add. It's a miracle !

I'm forgetting the name of that singer on Chocolate Kings but he's part of a new band called CCLR with Mr.Roversi from Moongarden. They're a trio with various guest guitarists helping out on the album including Steve Hackett on one track.Interesting that the singer feels strongly about singing in English and not Italian, even to the point of feeling that a lot of young Italian bands are making a mistake singing in Italian.I couldn't disagree more but to each his own.

^ Bernardo Lanzetti is the guy you're thinking of John, a fine singer and CCLR have made a great album - on the mellow side but it's an album that really grows with repeated plays.

I'm on the fence regarding a preference between the two. The first one really rocks but the second is a more mature piece of work. Both great albums though.

FRANCO BATTIATO : MECCANICA. I love this song. So incredibly original ! It makes me irresistibly think of two of my all time favorite songs : Drugs by the Talking heads or African Night Flight by David Bowie. |

1. Go to the Youtube video and click on Share. 2. Copy the line after the / sign. 3. Come back to this forum and do not insert "funny cat videos" in the subject line. 4. Click on the movie button on the upper line 5. Insert the link from Youtube there 6. Post it. Edited by toroddfuglesteg - October 24 2011 at 09:21 |

Actually, Pierre does it the preferable way for those of us with slow speed connections. Use links rather than posting the whole video here. If the Den turns into a string of videos, some of us will have to stay out because it just slows us to a crawl when there are too many. Everyone is free to do as they choose of course, but links rather than videos are greatly appreciated by some.I've made this suggestion to Andrea P as well, as I had to stop reading his blog because of this. He is now doing more links I believe. Edited by Finnforest - October 24 2011 at 10:06 |

Guldbamsen! No, although I've had them on my list since one of your polls a few months back, and I was bummed out that I couldn't find them when I was in Italy! I agree, definitely got that gentler feel. The album that's stealing most of my time is actually Osanna's Suddance which doesn't get a whole heap of love, but I'm really enjoying the first four tracks. I love Lino's voice. |

Another interesting album from 1973 by LUCIO DALLA. "Il giorno aveva cinque teste." A singer song album with a touch of prog. A little bit naive. Nice synths. Hard to find in CD. |

Are you trying to woo me Jim? If so, it is working like a charm Seeing these guys in the flesh, really ads another dimension to their music. All of them outrageously capable musicians - and for me personally, a rhythmic gymnast, drummer Giulio Capiozzo is both a rare and unique treat to watch. He is one of my all-time faves. Thanks |
