Agollach was a bit of a disapointment...
I guess anything assorted with black metal is going to have bad drumming! I usually complain about the obnoxious snare-bass-snare-bass rythyms, but on ashes against the grain the drummer just reminded me of one of those soulless modern rock drummers...
I like the vocals though!

Isn't it the same guy? The one who sings is also a drummer I believe! I like them really. I have nothing against Black Metal, I've listened to thousands of Pagan/Doom-Death/Folk/Death/Black/Gothic/Dark-Metalish things while I was a teen, so AGALLOCH's manner annoys me not . I like this special atmosphere they create |

I just dont like the extreme/minimalism of black metal drumming.
Anyways, whats the song order of Adolf plays the Jazz' album day 4 urban fiction? On my computer it just labeled the songs in alphabetical order, and I need the album structure, cause the songs are SOOOO GOOOD!

I've been proposing this band for a while, cham has already given his vote for them to include here; Chris and Jimbo are in process of enjoying (I believe!) them
Russian Post-Rock/Indie Prog band, heavy influenced by RADIOHEAD/IMMANU EL/MUSE etc - EVERYTHING IS MADE IN CHINA Enjoy and share your thoughts! |

I think the best albums to start with are the collected EPs on Switched on Vol 2--Refried Ectoplasm, which has a lot of their best early work, including the signature song French Disko, as well as Mountain, Lo Boob Oscillator and John Cage Bubblegum, and Mars Audiac Quintet. The early stuff is more of the droning hard driving krautrock influence, closer to post punk, even Sonic Youth in sound. Then their best overall album IMO is Mars Audiac Qunitet, which is the best combination of the early sound and the retro pop sound---probably their most melodic and accessible album with the great songs such as Three Dee Melodie, Wow and Flutter, Ping Pong. Then I would move on to the more avante-jazz influenced albums such as Emperor Tomato Ketchup and Dots and Loops, which expand their musical pallette beyond pure driving pop songs.
You are right about ORourke--I was thinking of McEntire.

A bit of investigation on my part shows that when you downloaded the zip file and when you extract the files to your hard drive, you might have seen the album artwork.
Back cd final.jpeg has the track listing in the correct order.
But if you can't be bothered looking, I'll make it easier for some people.
1. Inumb
2. Terminal
3. Every Single Moment
4. Norman Bates Just Cleaned the Room
5. Learning
6. What If
7. Foremost
8. Jasm
9. For What is Made To Fail
10. Of Dogs and Mice
11. Waste
Not sure about other people, but in my media player, track 4 only came up as Norman Bates, but the full track name is listed above.

I think the album was really good enough anyway, it would have flowed no matter what the track order.

I've been listening more and more to Day 4 Urban Fiction lately. The album just flows effortlessly and is incredibly dynamic. For anyone that hasn't yet given it a go, seriously go and download their albums off their website, I highly recommend it
