4x4's are more fun in winter, when Mrs Chelsea Tractor discovers they are no better than any other car on the ice and being that high of the ground doesn't fell quite as safe as it did in summer but if she straddles the white line and crawls along at 5 miles an hour the queue of traffic behind her won't mind because she's clearing the snow for them and she should be home by teatime tomorrow, oh bugger, she's forgotten to pick the kids up from ballet and is now trying a thirteen-point turn across the central reservation. She can remember Mr Chelsea Tractor said something about low-gear or something but that wouldn't go with her Laura Ashley frock and headscarf and the green wellies get in the way of the peddle things and she's sure those tyres had more grip than this but if she goes around this corner very gingerly in small jerks like one of those old-fashioned 12-sided coins (thruppenny-bits? her thoughts exactly) she should be okay, oh crap, that's a ditch, now where's reverse in this thing? Oh, it's conked out - no matter, she'll wait there for that nice man from the RAC to save her.
What?

LOL LOL LOL
Classic.
It was noticeable when we were on holiday in Dorset where a 4x4 might actually have been useful that nobody had one. Yet in London everyone has them (except me) and they never drive through anything worse than a muddy puddle.

Must remember not to put in print ones feelings when exasperated and made late for an important appointment by a lady in an enormous queue deciding to park where she was and walk her child to school half a mile away!!

No-one could move until she returned 10 minutes later!!

Was she in a 4 x 4?

Big%20smile How did you guess!

Some Japanese thing that was the size of a tank!

Because they always seem to be in 4 x 4.

It used to be Vauxhall Frontera's ('cause they looked a bit like a big car) but now they're Isuzu's.

Dead

That's an extreme example... LOL

Here's a more normal Isuzu:

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Huh, you think those Isuzu things are big and annoying?  Look what was parked outside my workplace the other day...

I had a job to get round the back of it and through the door into the building!  Nice parking, Escalade driver... Angry LOL

A classic discussion LOL
I had the best of days a few weeks ago, while taking the kids to school by bicycle (a daily routine, they like it and it wakes them up in the morning).  A new police officer was assigned to the our neighbourhood, and on his first day he was writing tickets for 'malparking practises' around the block of three schools that we have here. Each and every one of the people who got a ticket drove either an Audi Q7, BMW X3, Nissan X-Trail or a cheap Asian copy of one of those. No surprise, there were a lot less cars and a lot more bicycles parked outside the schoolyard the following day. The police are your friends, sometimes... Evil%20Smile

EDIT: @Dean - a wonderful dummarysummary of a typical winter morning in the life of Mrs. Chelsea Tractor LOL

Good idea. My sons'  previous school had big yellow "don't park here" signs in the road outside but the mums still use to park there. The school sent notes out weekly but still they parked there, mainly because they can't be arsed to walk 50 yards from the nearest car park.
The best one was when the school returned from a week away in two big coaches. Now, it would be obvious to most people with half a brain that the coaches would need to park outside the school, but no, people still parked their Chelsea Tractors in the way.Angry

One friendly policeman boxed up and shipped to the United Kingdom of Great Britain (or is that also a contradiction, multiplication, duplication ... whatever?).

As for The Story of the Guitar - is it running on BBC1 or 2, that's all we get from the UK in our house...

Don't put it on the kitchen colander if you've a head like a sieve, because that can be a bit of a strain.

I think you've drained all the possible puns out of that remark, Dean.
